EDCPlus / IS X60L3 Triple LED P60 Dropin ( High CRI / Neutral White )

hi there,
does any modders have this drop in already ?.

also does one LED just give like 150 lumens if it was just on its own ?.
then there is a better reason to maybe have 3 right?.

thanks kindly…

EDCPlus/IS X60L3 Triple LED P60 Dropin (High CRI/Neutral White)

$74.99

EDCPlus and Illumination Supply have teamed up to bring you the X60L3, a triple LED dropin that is low on cost, but doesn’t skip on an ounce of quality! The dropin was designed with the user in mind, and comes in a diffusor/head tool case, and even an AR lens to maximize the output from the dropin. Unlike competing dropins, the X60L3 has been tested in an integrating sphere and is compliant to the ANSI FL-1 test. The LEDs - 3 Nichia NVSL219AT-H1 , are being driven at 2A, and puts out an extremely efficient 465 High CRI lumens rare in such a small package. This is achieved by our custom LED board and full copper unibody construction. For eelctrical conductivity and appearance, we have also silver plated the copper.

Not sure but I think I ordered coolwhite. Didn’t look for color options :stuck_out_tongue: oops

If you read at the bottom of the page on illumination supply it says Manufactured by: EDC Plus. If you go to EDC Plus, it has the same page, same price, same coupon code….and is in stock.

Yep, but illumination supply has cheaper shipping to Canada

thanks, so one on its own would only be like 150 Lumens?

is that all one can give?, or is the driver at low?.
would one alone with a higher driver, be just the same?.

thanks.

I’m pretty sure the Nichia 219 puts out about 150-200 lumens. Like any neutral LED the output is less than cool white. The warmer the tint, the lower the output. It has something to do with the gasses that are used in the LED to warm up the tint. The gasses partially inhibit some of the light from escaping.

I think the last time I ordered from EDC Plus, the shipping was $5.

hi thanks, so better get a triple 219 if you want more then.
thanks.

The total drive current is rated at 2A +/- 100mA , so between 633mA and 700mA per emitter, which is less than the rated maximum for the 219 H1.

I have a Nichia 219 in a P60 drop-in driven at 1.4 amps and it measures 215 lumens OTF. 1.5 amps is the rated maximum so you won’t see much more than that in true OTF values.

I'm constantly amazed about how much people pay for such stuff.. still having the quad from CPF @ 230$ in my mind. Weird.

Yes I agree, sometimes the prices are crazy but I’ve wanted a quad ever since I saw this pic. I already have the blue L2P but the quad is out of my budget. The triple is pretty reasonable though.

But why dont you just build one yourself?

That quad is with trits.. also expensive. :D

Just ordered one, been wanting to try out a 219 for awhile now.

i saw this too… very nice

It won’t work in my Malkoff MD2. I’d have to pick up a solar force host.

I should have mine today..

For the quad lovers , i'll do a comparison against my Quad from memory ( just blew up few days ago)...I have a Quad XpG2 arriving today, although this one requires a full weekend to complete...

Is this drop in waterproof? Seeing that it looks as if it has glass secured to it due to the optics. It looks like it is made like the M60’s were.

the dropin is built to go into a host that already has a window - it is not waterproof on its own.
the optics is not protected by glass for maximum output.

ri chevy,
I’d say yes but only provided that your P60 host (such as the SolarForce L2 series) has good water-proof/resistant properties
