Anyone tried the 2S2P version supposedly 95% efficient?
I have the basic version with the leds on the side and mini usb input (charged 2 cells in under 6 hours). Only about 60% efficient chargeing iphone 3G for me with TF flame from DX
Have the single flashlight charger aswell.. usb light is nice but won't fit TF flame
Obviously these only have 5v output, any mod to boost voltage to charge a basic netbook (not laptop/notebook)
^ Some Moto phones reject chargers without a resistor on the ID pin. "Unauthorized charger" is the message I've seen.
You can make an adapter but they are cheap to buy. Moto mini usb adapter Reviewer notes it works for RAZR v3. I've used this retractable cable with a moto Krazr & it also has the proper ID pin.
I bought the M3 when it came out and it's reliability means I have stuck with it and it still has the original battery which performs like new, I use the Motorola 12v adaptor in the car and the 12v extenders similar to your link in the motorhome and van.
It's no biggy to me but I will get one and a short USB lead for the option.
These 102's are good chargers I have found and I ordered more for the business last week after performance testing a number of them recently.
This one came in today and it's a home run! Very nice little charger. Charges an 18650 from the confusers USB port and charges my phone from the 18650. Very nice plastic also, thats a nice surprise.
Sorry for bringing up the old thread. I recently came across this charger on ebay and it got me interested. I have my eyes on the 2.5A version. But there is a big question mark regarding its efficiency as most boost chargers seem to have low efficiency issues as evidenced by the complaints on DX for similar products with two AA cells. So have you done any tests to find out the efficiency? Is it possible to get atleast 70-75% on average?
Also how long does it take you to charge the four 18650 batteries? I am guessing 15-16 hours?
Anybody who has this charger is welcome to chip in with their inputs.
Found it through this thread while browsing for solutions for my backpacknig gear. It would be great if it was possible to charge with a solarpanel (panel output is at 600 mAh)
It’s possible to charge using a usb cable, just make sure that nothing is bottlenecking your system. For example the USB cable can deliver the power of whatever panel you hook it up too and the box you use can receive that power. I don’t think it matters if the panel isn’t supplying the maximum input that the box can receive, it’ll still charge as long as there is enough power for the circuitry to activate. I’ll know more if my 2.5 amp box ever arrives in the slow boat from china.
I wouldn’t buy a DX panel, stick with brands or well known vendors.
The foldable solar panels on this page ($139) charge that battery box like a CHAMP! In full sun it can charge TWO of them at the same time, providing the full 1amp that the charger box is capable of sucking up!!!
