You are so welcome jon
May I ask what were your camera settings?
Why do you ask?
Wondering if there are any standard settings for beamshots.
I like to take photos during the day, so the auto white balance of my iPhone uses the daylight as its white reference…
This also lets us see the actual light in the photo, not just the beam. Im using a gray soldering mat as a background, it works better for me than white paper.
other people like to take photos in the dark, against a white wall or white piece of printer paper, and use 5000K white balance.
Beamshots can also mean a photo of a tree at night… intended to show the shape, reach and spread of the beam, not the color. Photos in fog serve a similar purpose.
so, I encourage you to experiment and share what works for you. Its fun to discover different ways to communicate.
another tool I liuke to use is this spectrum plot:
(the data is from a tool called an Opple 3)
CCT and DUV values help communicate about Color and Tint in a way that does not vary based on the White Balance of a Camera.
My least effective photos are taken at night, under artificial light of any kind. No matter how much I fiddle with White Balance and other settings… those images seem the least universally understandable.
The issue is that beam colors and tints look different at night, than during the day. My choice has been to standardize on daytime photos, not night shots.
The D3AA driver is remarkable, especially at it’s price point, imo.
I own and have owned lots of Zebras . Of the few that I’ve tested for runtimes, based on manufacturer info and battery, none came close to the advertised runtimes. On any setting or level. Even while fan cooled at a average ambient temp of 72°F.
That’s never kept me from purchasing more, they combine so many other innovative and proven features.
Thanks for posting your results.
I wish Zebralight would have kept the 16340 lineup.

oh… guess I should go look more closely at some runtime tests…
I can understand that… all lights have pros and cons
what are some of the things about a Zebra, that keep you coming back?
Some info about custom programming the Zebra output so it starts on Medium instead of High:
group 6 customized (this changes the output cycling during Hold, to low high medium):
1 clic from off:
49
16
2 clic from off:
106
270
hold from off:
2.7
.06
