I am interested in the improved driver, but as intial reports of the DA1K indicate that it’s another floodlight I’m not seeing what it does that the D4K doesn’t.

Very interesting! I’m about due for an order too. Been meaning to get another D3AA.
Where are those reports? I’ve looked but found nothing so far and I’d love to read up a bit about this light 
I have yet to see any reports either, Hank has stated it is using a Carclo 10394 optic which is a wide optic.
I’ll have to have a look when I get home as I’m at work and Reddit’s blocked here, but Jackson Lee has posted a couple of beamshots on either r/hanklights or r/flashlight and confirmed that it is floody.
