Emisar / hanklight suggestion

Hi all,
I’m currently interested to buy following flashlights:
emisar d2 and emisar d1 (18650) or emisar d1k (21700)

D2 with following configuration:
channel 1: 519a 5700K domed
channel 2: UV

D1: SFT40 5000K
D1K: SFT40 5000K

My question is for D2:

  1. I’ve read that in turbo mode, both channel will be used, thus this doesnt make no sense. Toykeeper had some update, so you can only use Turbo on 1 channel. But do I need to update the firmware myself? Since I dont have the adapter to update the anduril firmware.
  2. Does using 519a 5700K domed at least has the same throw/flood distance as SP10 Pro?

My question for D1/D1K:

  1. I read that D1 and D1K size are similar. D1k is just longer because it houses 21700 battery. So I would probably go with D1K.
  2. SFN60 5500K or SFT40 5000K? I want a balanced flood-throw flashlight. Usage within 200-300 lumens that can reach hopefully 100m

My question general for emisar:

  1. I found 2 websites https://intl-outdoor.com/ and https://www.noctigon.com/, are there any difference?
  2. Any experience ordering to germany? extra tax etc.
  3. I have mostly button top batteries and OEM batteries. In emisar website, there is this “Unprotected, flat top, high drain batteries only”, what is considered high drain batteries? For SFN60 or SFT40, is 10A enough?
  4. Do you know if emisar does give also discount event sometimes?

Thank you for your suggestions.

do I need to update the firmware myself?

yes, you can order the flashing adapter from Emissar.

or dont use Turbo (it can be disabled in Anduril without need to reflash)

or maybe you can find someone in Germany willing to reflash for you

Does using 519a 5700K domed at least has the same throw/flood distance as SP10 Pro?

No.

The D2 has a throw rating of 75 meters.

The SP10 Pro has a throw rating of 144 meters.

The D2 has a much smaller reflector. The light is best for indoor distances.

Parcels with the free shipping (>$40) option arrive via DHL after 10-15 days. Hank does some magic with prepaying the custom fees, never had any issues.

You can ask Hank to make sure the light has the latest firmware.

1 Thank

Yes, Emisar lights get to USA very fast.

Thank you for the information

Thank you, I did read some review but it seems I missed some

Sfn60 is better balance of flood/throw. Ya it’ll reach 100m

The sfn60 pulls like 30amps on turbo. 10a is not enough if you want to get the most out of the light. Not for sft40 either.

1 Thank

fwiw, here is some info about how to set up Anduril 2 in a Two Channel light such as the D2, so that Turbo does not use both emitters. This solution does not require reflashing

this is the hex file that Toykeeper put on her D2. Described here

I dont know if Hank would install that hex for you. I did not ask. Hex files discussed here, are often newer than what manufacturers use.

When I ordered a D2 a few days ago, I also bought the flashing adapter from Hank. I have not received the package yet.

I found 2 websites https://intl-outdoor.com/ and …

that is the site I used to order my D2. Both sites belong to Hank, but they list different products.

Thank you, I would probably also order the adapter + D2, so I can also update my flashlight if needed. Hopefully the adapter could be used for reflashing other 4 pins driver and not only for emisar.

Not sure, but I think the 4 pin IS only for Hank lights (emisar/noctigon). The D2 will be my first Hank light and it has a different flashing pin configuration than

the flashing tool I use for Wurkkos TS10/TS25, and Sofirn SP10 (there may be others I dont own that use this 3 pin adapter)

I use a different flashing tool for Sofirn SC21 Pro. (it is also 3 pin, but the spacing is unique)

Oh that is interesting. Well I’ll take that into consideration before ordering then
