Emisar headband is available.

Nichia 719A is the smallest I can think of.

if the optic is well done then even with sft70 3000k it will be throwy, 150m or 200m of throw will be great out of kr1aa

4 Thanks

DA1K with the new optic is more throw than flood with an SFT70.

collected quotes regarding KR1AA Floody beam:

thank you..

agree, and it is very throwy in the tall reflector of a Zebra SC65

but I have not seen a throwy Tir in a Hank produce a clean hotspot and spill. His Tir are short

a throwy AA/14500 light can not be as short the KR1AA

thank you, I have not seen a photo but ToyKeeper likes it

Note Toykeeper is using DCFix

The KR1AA is floody, but the dual fuel driver w NoPWM is superior to the LiIon Only TS10, which has ridiculously slow PWM at lowest level (the Zebra SC65 also uses PWM at lowest level, and has Visible Flicker, which is why I sold mine)

Guys over analyzing, bickering and squabbling about a torch not yet out- I really need to get a life!

Toykeeper got DA1K before Hank’s custom optics emerged. Her throwy optic is a Carclo one that produces a square beam. With Hank’s optics the beam is perfect as is and no diffusion film is needed.

I use DC-Fix for one week and then I remove it because I prefer to use default optic.
It’s not super floody but it’s not super spot. It is just perfect

Looks like you guys are interested in the KR3, that means 18650 with triple 20mm optic? I think the body should be very slim, and the running time is decent with the 18650 battery comparing to the 14500.

22 Thanks

I’ve just worked out that a DA1k with an SFT70 and Hank’s optic has an 18º hot spot. Or to give that some context, at 2 m the hot spot is not a lot bigger than the one from my Acebeam P16 and almost exactly the same size as a Warrior 3.

Actually I would be interested in a KR3. I’ve been wishing for a while for something that was effectively a D3AA head with an 18650 body.

6 Thanks

I’d definitely pick up a KR3!

I’d also be interested in the KR4K — the 21700 version of the KR4! The runtime of the 21700 is just so much better and I am a huge fan of the tail switch

3 Thanks

Its so crazy everytime hank announces a new lights, yall are already on bugging him for the next next light. @Hank_Wang I appreciate this and look forward to the raw and brown versions

7 Thanks

That would be fantastic!!! I would definitely pick up a couple

I’ve been hoping and hoping for a D1Sv2. A reflector of that size paired with something like a NTG50 or FFL707a would have a perfect beam for walking at night (to me)

Or something like the SFT25R or SFT42R for a champion thrower without being as cumbersome as the K1

2 Thanks

A KR3(Slim 18650 body, Carclo 20mm Triple 105xx Optic, Nichia 519A or NTG35, Captive Clip and a SS bezel) = instant buy

Another thought I had on the theoretical ‘KR4K’. Maybe it’s already been talked about, but how about using the optics/mcpcb of the D4SV2 so it basically be a tail switch version of the D4SV2. That would allow much greater throw and much better runtime over the KR4, and also a somewhat similar profile with the larger 21700 tube.

Also in regards to the KR1AA, as a buyer of many of Hanks lights, I think Hank has hit a home-run with this one for sure!

Also just my personal thoughts on the KR3, while I would buy one, for me the slightly smaller diameter is not really worth the decrease in lumens (one less LED) over the current KR4.

Thank you @Hank_Wang for the KR1AA, and thanks for considering the requests of your loyal customers!

I agree, an 18650 KR3 is just 1 less LED KR4. A KR3AA makes more sense, it’s a different battery, smaller overall size.

1 Thank

Yes please! Make it as slim as possible - go for a thin battery tube (like the D4K). Ideally, fit a Lume X1 boost driver there.

3 Thanks

That’s hobbyist/enthusiast forums for ya…

1 Thank

I like the idea of the kr3 bigger triple, as unlike the quads, it can be used with the elliptical lenses as a bike light, with much improved runtime!
Take my money!

1 Thank

Might you consider a KR1K (21700 KR1)? I would love to buy this with the SFT42R.
