Well, it doesn't seem to be happening this time, so I will regroup and figure something else out.
Up for auction is this Trio of Maglites. The BUILD THREAD is HERE and it should give you some more info. I do these trios once a year.
The 2D has been cut down to accept 4x16340 batteries in a custom holder. It has an MT-G2 on a Copper star and a DrJones driver for Clicky switches. The modes are H/M and then the ramping, special modes, etc. Read all about this firmware in the link. It has extra chips added and will deliver over 4 amps with four Efest 16340 batteries. It needs IMR batteries to run at full output. The led sits on a copper heat sink that is screwed down into the head. The TIR optic makes it kind of different and the stock Maglite switch is retained.
The 2AA has a Nichia 219 High CRI led in it, with a TIR optic and it is driven by a 3 amp NANJG 105c driver (KD driver). The modes are L/M/H/Strobe/SOS. It needs an IMR 14500 to be as bright as it can be. It comes with a dummy 14500 cell. Just a slight twist of the head for on and mode changes.
The 2AAA has a Nichia 219 High CRI led in it, with a TIR optic and the driver has 5 modes, H/M/L/ Strobe/SOS. It takes a single 10440 battery and it comes with a dummy 10440 in it. Just a slight twist of the head for on and mode changes.
I have to make a couple points about these lights. First of all, they are home made. They are not perfect and they tend to be a little quirky, just like the guy that made them. Do not take them apart. Do not take off the bezels and remove the optics on these lights. Doing that, without knowing how to safely, will result in ripping the domes off the leds. The bezels of all three may look like they are not totally on tight. Well, they are not totally on tight. You will see a small gap. That's called oldfartisnowherenearperfect, better known as the handmade blues. Also, on the 2AAA light, you only need to use a small twist off/on and Very little pressure. A lot of pressure turning it on would result in damage to the bottom of the pill in the 2AAA light. These lights work, they turn on and change modes, however, they are designed to be "Shelf Queens" and primarily for show. If you can live with all that, by all means, go ahead and bid away. As with all my lights, if it's DOA or it is screwed up, then I will fix it or take it back and refund your money.
The auction starts now.
I will take ONLY SEALED BIDS in the form of PMs to me.
I will keep the current high bid up here and in the title, so you can see what the high bid is.
