Enova Gyrfalcon S4000 Pro, experiences with NiMH-charging

Hi,

here are some of my experiences and thoughts with FW 3.2.50. The charger was provided by Enova, Thanks

This is my 1st charger with such many features, I don´t can compare it to the Skyrc MC3000.

Positive:

The contact for small cells, AA and AAA is better than expected.

With good/mediocre cells it seems to work unproblematic

The noise on normal conditions are not so annoying like with some other chargers with fans.

Handling is good for a charger with such features

Good amount of useful features.

Negative:

Termination with problematic cells (over-discharged, heavy used, low max. voltage) is problematic, also with the Advice-parameter. Some cells get hot, >53° Celsius. Termination sometimes not happen even if the voltage stays stable for a longer time, this means the 0dV-function should be improved, will retest with future FW.

The spring mechanism is actually awful, Enova want to improve it.

The touch-buttons react sometimes not so good or react at light touches

Unrated:

Linear discharge, measuring voltage while discharge, lead to very low capacity measuríng. With most cells the capacity test results were OK but with some cells it stoped while the Powerex MH-C9000 Pro discharges more than 1200mAh.

Big charger but only 1A charge/discharge

Nice to have:

Temperature control/monitoring for the cells would be welcome in a charger of this class

Enough place for bigger cells should be possible with a charger of it´s size.

LEDs which show the state (working/finished) for the single slots which are visible from a bigger distance (like in Skyrc NC2200)
