Evil stupid people in the world. :(

I cant have what I want. I cant have what I like. I have what I have and like what I got.

I typically start my day with several tablespoons of cafe caribe in a french press. Good coffee at a bargain price.

Following on from the shooting in the gay club they mentioned on the news yesterday:

So many people die annually from gunfire in the US that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 eclipses all wars ever fought by the country.

According to research by Politifact, there were about 1.4 million firearm deaths in that period, compared with 1.2 million US deaths in every conflict from the War of Independence to Iraq.

Wow! :open_mouth:

264 - You brought back some very fond memories with those videos. Thank you!

Yeah .
I live about 15 miles from where the shootings took place . It has affected everyone . It is the only topic of conversation right now .
As one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world , we have been paranoid about terrorism for a long time . What happened at Pulse was such a tragedy .

The people here have been great in their support of the victims and their families . Long lines at blood donation sites , with many others providing water and food for everyone involved in the donation process .
Many helpers , all of them heroes .

Staying strong in Orlando .

People might be hitting the new Rude! button because of the curse word. Some members have mentioned that they occasionally do have children reading over their shoulder.

Donā€™t get me wrong though, imho strong language is warranted at times, especially when we are talking about a massacre like this. But BLF is meant to be family friendly, no cursing for any reason. Helps to maintain the nice atmosphere we have here (vs the rest of the internet).

By the way, sb56637? Is that Sbā€™s name?

I get what you are saying. Thatā€™s why I deleted my posts. I get very emotional when innocent people die in the name of religion, etc.
I apologise to anyone I might have offended becuase of my launguge.

Interesting! Thatā€™s not what I wrote.

Anyone use sodastream?

canā€™t have an open/honest discussion without: Please do not post anything about religion, politics, or specific people in response.

Sorryā€¦thatā€™s all I have for this threadā€¦

Donā€™t like sugary drinks at all.

Black coffee.
Red wine; dry, (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir)
Beer (Guiness & Smithwickā€™s Irish Ale)
Irish whiskey on occasion (Bushmills Black Bush)

Didnā€™t Original Coke vanish with the Pure Food and Drug act of 1906?

Isnā€™t it funny how threads ā€œevolveā€ around here? I mean, this one is completely off of its original topic and has taken on a new topic entirely. So I guess Iā€™ll stay ā€œon topicā€ā€¦.

Another non-sugary drink person here. I like black coffee, unsweetened tea (either iced or hot, depending on the occasion), or good olā€™ water. Plain tap water is fine with me, ā€œspringā€ or ā€œmineralā€ water is good too. I like some lemon in mine but its not necessary. What I donā€™t like is sparkling waters or, even worse, those awful ā€œflavoredā€ waters that needs 15 ingredients to make it taste like its got strawberries in it or something. No thanks. And diet sodas taste awful.

I also like beer. Beer is good.

When I was younger I drank more than my share of sodas. Dr Pepper and Mtn Dew were my choices. They donā€™t do anything for me anymore. Iā€™m not afraid of sugar though. Iā€™m one of those folks who will eat ice cream straight from the carton and could definitely stand to lose a few pounds. I just donā€™t like drinking it. Makes me thirsty.

ā€¦happy little forum?

This forum was welcoming to everyone, especially those who were weary from the endless encounters with goblins and fights with trolls which were so common elsewhere.
Evey day the grounds keeper patrolled the forum, working to keep the trolls and goblins out. The residents were always thankful for his hard work. Every so often though, some residents would wonder who he was and how he came to build their happy little forum.
You see, very few even knew his real name. Of course, secretly, there was a very good reason. In his name, resided his power. Power to hold up their happy little forum. If the trolls and goblins ever discovered his true name, well, the happy little forum would come crumbling down.

And thatā€™s why Iā€™ll never be a writer.

Can I call you Rumplestiltskin? :face_with_monocle:

I actually think I recall that other name from earlier days on BLF. I probably wouldnā€™t have forgotten it, if I had a better memory. :weary:

are we talking about soda here???

You could likely run anything up the flagpole to see if somebody pays attentionā€¦

Nature hates a vacuumā€¦ā€¦
Blame it on the precocious demise of the ā€˜Please Deleteā€™ thread.

I think it is best to leave ā€˜statisticsā€™ out of this thread. Many of them can be misleading and false.

Who was it that said there are lies, damn lies, and statistics?
