Love it. Hope I’m around when the link is added. Does anyone know what light this is based on?
I hope I’ll be paying attention when the offer is active; I missed out on the last similar promotion.
At a glance, this looks like a Convoy S3 with a tactical bezel, cooling fins, and a clip-on-clip. The S3 is a nice light (I have two), definitely one of the better items in its class, but I like the appearance and beam pattern of my Convoy S7 much better (I just have to be more careful with the S7 because stainless steel doesn’t dump heat very well).
What will the beam pattern be like?
The variety of Convoy hosts is nice, but does Convoy have any plans to offer new drivers and emitters? Adding an option for a Qlite 4-mode driver and/or a Nichia 219 high-CRI emitter would make the entire Convoy product line a lot more interesting.
Ooh, pretty.
I know the deal hasn’t started yet, but woah, regular price $22 + $21 (shipping)?
Yikes.
Edit: D’oh, was looking at the S5
Does anyone have pictures or links to pictures showing the differences between the above mentioned options Simon has available? Thanks!
Count me in, please. Or, do we have to wait for the link?
I think I am in on this one.
The only options are the driver and the LED. If you’re not familiar with the LED model #’s… basically the number/letter combo after the dash is the tint, for example “1a.” The lower the number the cooler the tint. The higher the number the warmer the tint. 1a leans toward blueish, and 7a is more like an incandescent light. 4C is probably the most neutral of the tints.

The driver is simple too. The number/* combo refers to the amount of chips on the driver. The higher that number the more current the light pushes. If you want lower outputs/better battery life stick with a lower number. If you want a hand burner *8 is a good choice. I think the *8 gives you a 2.8 amp current on high mode. These drivers are all 2 group drivers. The groups are selectable by a timed button press. One group is 3 modes H-M-L, and the other is a 5 mode with H-M-L plus 2 blinkies. These drivers all have mode memory too.
selectable driver: 7135*3 / 7135*4 / 7135*6 / 7135*8
Hope this helps.
Simon will basically add a link in at a random time within the next few days… it could be today or tomorrow or the next day… then the 1st 30 people to buy via the link (he puts in the 1st post) will get the light at that price. After that, you have to pay regular price. My advice? Subscribe and check back often.
definitely will get one along with this zoomie
WOW, again?
Hmm looks like those nice heat sink might be able to handle the eight 7135s…
Think I will go with pocket cannon setup (XML2 T6-4C 7135*8 SMO) this time.
Does this S8 use the same deep reflector as the other models?
Any of these lights available in bulk as bare hosts?
Thank you for the explanation. Might go for 4C
Nice!!
