A lot of NM is desert, but we have mountains too. There is a place that provides unexpected fall foliage colors. This is in the Manzano mountains, at the Fourth of July Campground.

Santa Fe Ski Area during the eclipse:
chairlift is running for fall colors viewing… the far hill top, center of pic, are golden Aspens. We dont get any reds… but its still a beautiful sight.
