I have both of these lights and I was surprised at how well the small sun zy-t13 competed with my Fandyfire STL-V6. The Fandyfire is even modded with a U2 emitter, and the zy may even be brighter in ceiling bounce, and was almost( if not equally) as throwy. I also like the mode selection switch on the body of the small sun. It doesn’t seem as quality as the fandyfire, but is very very close. Also the fandyfire reflector seems slightly larger. At half the price I would buy it instead of a stock fandyfire. I will say that the U2’s tint is better than the T6 in the small sun outdoors though. I had earlier read accounts of having to mod the small sun to get close to the fandyfire, but it seems like this is not the case.

The modded fandyfire with U2 led is on the right. Sorry for the camera(iphone) work. Also, the small sun seems to have excellent heat sinking as the body warms up fast and the design seems good also.
Here are some longer distance shots. Distance to back tree is approximately 130 meters. The lights appear much closer in real life.

The t13 is good value and copies a good design, but not the best build quality.

I had 2 of the Small Sun ZY-T13 and neither of them would come close to beating my FandyFire STL-V6. The Small Sun ZY-T08 will beat the Small Sun ZY-T13 by about 15% in throw.
+1 Do check under the led to make sure you have thermal compound or instal AS5 to get better heat transmission to the heatsink.
I modded mine and it outshines/outthrows my Eagletac M3C4 XML, a very nice budget light, indeed
The small sun has some minor defects such as the threads not being as smooth as the fandyfire, slight battery rattle with blue trustfires, and other details such as a spot or two on the reflector. The fit and finish of the fandyfire is better. The fandyfire appears to be anodized while the small sun is shiny and has what appears to be paint(?).Also, looking at the pictures the fandyfire is brighter, but to the naked eye th difference is not overly significant.
