By the way, a rice cooker is really useful if you eat a lot of rice. I may still save for a Zojirushi since they are not cheap but they are the best cookers. Japanese rice is harder to cook but it can be done on the stove if you take care.
My Zojirushi from 10+ years ago is still running perfectly. I think it's worth the money.

Wow, these rice cookers have become a lot more expensive. I think I paid $70 for mine. Now the same rice cooker costs $180 or £244 for you. That's a lot of rice, but if you eat as much rice as I do, it's worth it. Or let's say, as I used to eat when I was younger and could eat more without gaining weight. I'd go through 8 cups of uncooked rice myself in a couple days.
I'll still support your request for Fire Maple gear though. There's lots of lightweight backpackers in the United States that want Fire Maple, but can only get it through one ebay vendor that charges way too much. I really want their heat exchanger pots and kettles. That along with that titanium stove you posted might actually cause me to bring cooking gear on more trips.
I think it’s partly that they have to cover their overheads of importing and providing 1 year warranty on sales. Plus they may have been modified for 240V use since they are made for Japanese market.
It is a lot of rice but as I’ve got older my body really is fussy about what I can tolerate eating. Sometimes I just want to eat good rice with a little soy sauce. Nothing else.
Generally though any “specialist” import goods cost a lot more here. Things that sell for $80 will be sold for £80 here. :_(
I just put in a request for the Fire Maple stove I linked to earlier. It’s not an area I am familiar with at all but I’d like to see them expand their outdoors selection.

No one ever promised or guaranteed that all our wishes will be fulfilled, Its like a throwing a coin in the fountain and making a wish, might come true or it might not. It’s just a one of the ways for seller to see interest of the market andit’s not always possible to act according to our wishes, maybe they can not obtain particular product, maybe the interest is not enough high to make all effort profitable, maybe they just can’t offer lower price. I would bet that some requests are unrealistic also, you find some interesting product somewhere on a discount sale and then request even lower price from FT.
When you request a product do you do it by name like: “I would like for you to carry genuine Panasonic NCR18650B batteries!” or you first go thru all shops you know, find cheapest ones and then send that link to FT?!
Ask yourselves what’s realistic!
I made some requests, if they listed those products I was grateful if not = not a big deal, I’ll buy somewhere else.
I would suggest: if you found a super good deal somewhere, if you are in the hurry, if you want to buy this week or you can’t/won’t wait a month or two -> don’t make a product request…
