They indeed are incredible looking. But …
When you consult LEO’s about the order of the UI (high → low or low - high) it could be relevant to ask if they prefer a more stealthy color scheme, like with matt black.
Edit: as a third color option. I also love the Red an Gold colors
We’ve carefully considered the different preferences from the community, and we’ve decided to offer two switch configurations to better serve both tactical users and everyday enthusiasts:
Forward Clicky (Tactical Configuration):
Instant activation with a light press (momentary-on)
Ideal for law enforcement, self-defense, and high-stress scenarios
One of these is a wrong spec cuz I’m too familiar with this size of thrower lights, hope you guys figure it out and correct it.
Unless you’re telling me that “980m beam distance” doesn’t follow ANSI standards and doesn’t mean 240100cd, but rather your subjective perception.
For a 30-40mm thrower light, the reflector inner diameter is pretty much the same. With one of the highest luminance emitters available, SFT25R and driven with 8A, it can probably get 100-130Kcd.
240kcd is a figure that only comes from a C8-sized light with a high luminance emitter, obviously not something this would have.
“Luminance” is sometimes called “lumen density” and they are somewhat related. Assuming the lumen number is correct, 4000lm SFT90X would be roughly 50% as luminance as 2000lm SFT25R, which would be roughly 50-65kcd, 447-509m ANSI beam distance.
edit: I misremembered the output of SFT25R, the SFT90 should have a lower throw.
Definitely wrong. The Sft90 requires at least a 50 mm to 55 mm head to achieve over 200Kcd. The Fenix tk21r has a 36mm head, same led, and only does 480 m. This would be about a 50Kcd light at best.
We’re excited to share that the ST-DT1 Ultra, our dual-tone anodized tactical flashlight, is officially launching on July 31st!
Here’s what’s new in our roadmap:
5 color variants planned – Two colors are ready (Black+Red / Black+Gold), and three more will be unlocked based on support. Customizable UI interface – We’re developing a simple, user-friendly interface with future plans for an advanced mode for enthusiasts. Limited launch via Kickstarter – Early backers will get exclusive pricing and a place on our digital “Honor Wall.”
We’ll post the campaign link here once it’s live.
Stay tuned — and thank you for your continued interest and feedback!
Ok, I’ll admit that IF the green and blue options are as shown, differing from the typical blue and greens that we have come to see from most manufacturers, I’d probably be inclined to pick one up if just for the color.
Based on its contours and general aesthetic, it like a cross between a 6p/g2x, elzetta bravo, and Seraph…it appears to be a pretty tanky light, if you ignore the scalloping and bright colors.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re really excited about the green and blue options too. Our goal is to offer something unique and different from the typical shades you see in tactical gear. We believe the dual-tone anodized finish really gives the flashlight a distinctive look and feel.
We’ll make sure to showcase the exact color options as soon as they’re ready, and we hope they’ll stand out in the way you’re expecting. Stay tuned for more updates — we’re working hard to make this a flashlight that not only performs great but also looks great in hand!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We totally understand your concern. While the dual-tone anodized finish does create a striking visual appeal, it was designed with a balance in mind — we wanted to offer a tactical flashlight that not only performs well but also looks exceptional.
As for visibility, we intentionally chose these colors to differentiate our product in the market. For those needing more discretion, we will also be offering more traditional, low-profile color options in the future.
We’re always striving for feedback like yours to make our products better, so we really appreciate your perspective!
Thanks for the feedback! We definitely wanted the black-on-black design to have a sleek, tactical look that fits well with law enforcement (LEO) and professional use. It’s all about providing a high-performance tool that blends in when needed, but still stands out with its precision and quality. We appreciate your perspective and are excited to hear your thoughts once you get to see it in person! Stay tuned for more updates!
Thanks for your feedback! The packaging design was created by our professional graphic designers, who have over 10 years of experience in flashlight imagery and design. While it might have a modern, clean aesthetic, it’s crafted with precision to reflect the high-quality and tactical nature of the ST-DT1 Ultra.
We appreciate your perspective and are always refining our designs to ensure they align with our product’s vision. We look forward to your thoughts once the product is in your hands!
