This is the cheapest I have personally ever seen. I know it’s not a huge dollar amount in savings, but percentage wise this is pretty good! Normally you’re looking at about $12.50 for the E01, so this would be about 14% less than that.

Me specifically? I’d say right around the $30-$34 mark sounds about right.
IMO the LD01 R4 is the very best AAA light out there (I’m sure I’ve said this somewhere before, so excuse my repetitiveness). 
I apologise for the thread-jack. I agree that the LD01 is a great light - used it on keyring until I noticed a chip, then got a DQG. BUT - have you tried to put the clip on it? I nearly broke my thumb. Still cant manage it.
I got the LD01 & E01 gift set, and was really disappointed with the (purple) E01. Horrible oval, purple beam. I understand the attractions (runtime, ruggedness), but thank god I’m married - it swiftly went into my wife’s purse, and I don’t think I’ve seen it since (in fact, I doubt of she has either).
I agree that the clip is a weak point for the LD01. To be honest though, I wouldn’t use a clip on an AAA light anyways. They’re so small that they just disappear in your pocket (or wherever else you carry it), so what’s the point to using a clip?
As for the E01, you have to be willing to accept certain limitations at that price range. What you do get (extreme ruggedness and durability/dependability, super long runtime, small size which is great for keychain, HA III, choice of five colors, Fenix’s great warranty coverage, etc., etc.) is simply incredible for right around $12.
