So disappointed. I waited fir four months for the US warehouse to open, then the E12R to be in stock, then used my first time account user discount and ordered away!
Instead of a black e12r, i received a rainbow e12c, wrong color temp, etc.
Does tis happen a lot with them? What are the chances i can actually return this and get the light i ordered??
Can’t really say anything about the US warehouse, as its relatively new, and it’s just somebody carrying the lights on behalf of Jack, and he can’t really do any checks on it.
But the mess with the orders, or just sending different configs, colors, materials, LEDs, is actually quite common for the china warehouse (supposedly, it’s little better now, after they moved, and hire new workers, but then again, some soldering work is a mess because of it, because it’s not done by Jack himself).
Just contact Jack, fiona, or ivy, or just use the contact form on the website.
The contact is really better now, as there are people hire for it, in previous years, when Jack did everything himself, you either got a reply, and he did anything custom for you, or you just didn’t get any reply, however you tried to contact them.
I think you should contact them and give them the chance to make it right. Mistakes happen in every company in the world.
On a related note about the E12R…I was looking at that light the other day, and scratching my head. The options: 2700K or 5700K. That’s it.
I feel like those two choices will be either too warm or too cool for most people (at least for a floodlight…I’m pretty used to cool LEDs on throwers.) If there was an option for something in the 4000K-5000K range, something a little more ‘normal,’ I would’ve bought one already. They must be hurting their own sales by doing this, and I wonder why.
Dedomed 519a 5700k lands right within that range, at 4300k. I have one and it is great. Make sure to ask for it to be dedomed for warranty reasons, though it is easy to DIY
There is no dedomed option for the customers to select, though. If this is a secret ‘you need to ask for it’ thing, they’re still losing sales because other enthusiasts like Hank have these options right in the menu.
Also, dedoming makes lumens go down and throw go up…the opposite of what you want for a floodlight like the E12R. He should simply offer a 4500K domed option, IMO. Almost everyone else who carries the 519A does…why is this hard?
Yeah. Overall, I like the 4 Fireflylites I have, but I would almost certainly have purchased and kept more of them if simple things like this were non-issues.
I do absolutely hate the button on the T1R and T9R, though. There’s really no reason for it to be so hard and have no travel. It leaves an indentation on your freaking thumb. Whoever thought this button was a good idea should be fired. It makes me dislike the company and be less likely to buy more of their products, and I’m probably not alone. I don’t know many people that enjoy jamming their thumb into a rock.

Sorry, OP. Didn’t mean to hijack the thread quite that much.
The buttons are a lottery, some of them are terribly stiff, some just have a bit of resistance. I like the short-travel though, makes it easier to input clicks into Anduril.
Thanks for the feedback and guidance. I sent a communication earlier to them through the website. I got a response this evening - an apology and a promise of a shipping label so I can send it back. Also a promise to send the correct light - "later we will arrange ship the right new one to you. "
So far so good. Will update.
But as stated by someone earlier - companies sometimes make mistakes. Its understandable. I was surprised at how fast the shipping took place, and was thrilled to have my new light to try out camping this weekend…to no avail. My disappointment probably made my post seem more petty and mean spirited than it should.
