Nah, SW40 is still great emitter, just not the one I order and pay extra for.
It just pain me that I order full CU version and pay (+$10.00) for Nichia 219B SW45k D220 R9080 4500K, and they say they don't have full CU, but can send CU Ti instead.
If they said it was on SW40 I would cancel the order. But i wanted E07 on SW45K, even in CU TI so I did't cancel, and agreed for the CU TI version. (well it was customized on my order, with colorless button, it looks so much better than the black button)
The worst pain is that it's currently the most expensive flashlight (without LEP) in my collection, and it's not from materials, or on emitters, that I wanted...
Will just have to order it again in full CU and SW45K when it's available, and just ask them for discount on it.
I have already almost 30 flashlight, one more is not a problem, it is an excuse.
PS. it's stated on website
"PL09MU Antique brass versin will start shipping on 22th Jan"
And still no photos
Well, I will just make a bunch of photos, when my PL09MU arrive.
Jack official thread on BLF for those models is here. https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/69226
It's just that I heard of it couples months before he posted officially
I have one old clear anno E07 and it is loaded with sw-45k’s. I took it in on a trade and really did not expect to like it other than for the emitters. I am really pleased with the light, the optic really makes a nice compact hot spot, the tint is amazing and it weighs nothing. It is a little to big for jeans pocket carry, KR4 is about as big as I find tolerable. I just wish that it had RGB AUX leds and they were implemented like a D4V2 or KR4.
Not really sure that’s the case. If you email Jack and ask him, he’ll probably just send you one. Usually when he has new lights coming out soon, he’ll offer a coupon to previous customers. But aside form that, asking should do the trick. If you’ve never ordered, just say you don’t have any yet and you want to try his lights out. Ask if he is willing to offer you a first time discount. Should do the trick I think.
Yes there are 2 types of coupons, one is announced for all products. Last one was between november and december for a month or so.
And then the VIP coupons that are unique just for that one costumer, and are one time use (they include your name, so it's easy to see if you gave it to someone). Don't know how much you have to spend to get one. These coupons are for specific models (usually the new ones). Coupons are limited to max items you can buy.
And then there is the bundle promotion, where you get the cheapest flashlight from five that you buy, as a six one, for free. Last one was between november and december for a month or so, together with global discount coupon.
Last global coupon was directly on the web page in the "Sales Promotion" tab. https://www.ff-light.com/
There's should be one available in near future, you have even the pictures of the prototype in this thread...
Just got it (13 days from purchase)
From what I found the brass version is anduril UI (v1)
But from OFF:
3C only show battery voltage (2c don't work)
3H only strobe, you can adjust the frequency (2c don't work)
4C works
5C don't work
6C don't work
7C works as intended (but the one profile that blinks, only blinks for high, there is no low blinks)
15 C don't work
from ON:
4C don't work
5C don't work
5H don't work
weight with Samsung 21700 40T in it: 287 gram
current measurements (Samsung 21700 40T 4,067V):
AUX off: 95µA
AUX low: 150µA
AUX Hi: 975µA
TURBO: 9A
Be careful where you point this light, when you measure max amp on turbo :/
that's probably some LED defect, in the upper left corner.
No, the raw brass is polished, not coated. Only the Antique Brass is coated to preserve the look of the antique black it has. Fireflies doesn’t coat raw brass or raw copper. They only give it a high polish which allows it to patina the best over time.
That’s excellent news. And by chance I checked their website today. Turns out the PL09MU brass is on sale for 60 EUR (exchange rate more interesting than USD!). I caved and ordered.
Btw, tint mix is either 3500K or 3800K depending on where you look. E.g. FF website says 3800K, but neals gadgets states 3500K. We’ll see what shows up.
