Flashlight from JUNK 2 , now with Viagra ^^ update installed new switch idea

Hello all

This is my third unknown modified junk lights i found this light laying around and lonely almost got it for free , so i decided to give it a magic touche i really don’t know why Viagra is written on it but maybe it was for commercial Purpose, and this light will not have a driver i will direct drive the leds tell i have the BLF17DD driver, now i will let the pics tell the story.

The host , it is made from a very good aluminum alloy

this what was in the light some normal leds and a red laser diode in the middle

Light disassembled

Metal source is a PC heatsink with a big chunk of copper i removed those fins and used the copper with the surrounding aluminum ring

then machined , and by the way i don’t have a lathe i went to a lathe workshop and did it there costed me with equal to 5.6 $

Noctigon 3XP in the pill with 2x XPG2 and 1 x XTE i ran out of XPG2

Lens on, but unfortunately i have only thos lenses those are 40 degrees i had them with an order from this website for a friend who was building his led lights for his aquarium and i cant afford to buy the 10507 Carclo Lens and pay 20$ just for shipping :S

Made threads in the head to take the pill thank god this host was made of a bit thick alloy

This host can parley take an 18650 cell so i cant use Springs but this piece of Copper wire will do the trick and i think it is a better contact

Now every thing is ready , i modded the switch and used this one from FT this switch can really Handle 7A and above :slight_smile:

I toke the route of Direct drive cos i wanted a rocked light :smiley: now i am getting almost 7.5 A on tail cap with this Panasonic cell i got from this pull

Ditto, nice build. That is is some stiff competition for other menage a trios lights round here. How does the mix of LEDs perform?

it works just great , but i was hopping to use triple XP-L but it seems Carclo is not going to make triple XP-L optics

Small update

its cool to have a rocket in your pocket by driving the leds at 7A but it doesnt let me use this light for more than 5 minutes so i needed to install a driver that can give me 7A on high and can go lower , as i said in the op ( this light will not have a driver i will direct drive the leds tell i have the BLF17DD driver ) Well tell now i couldn’t manage to get the BLF17DD driver ,so i got this idea

i found a double on switch laying around

and as long as we all know that the Nanjg 105c regulates from the minus side, so i got an idea to install this switch to let me direct drive the leds from one side and driving the leds with the Nanjg 105c from the other side like this

on real

by the way the switch works like off then on number 1 then off then on number 2 and with the on number 1 i can half press to cycle between the driver mods

ofc this idea will not work until it is a foreword switch light and your leds can be direct drive from the battery

That surgery not only extended the length of your unit, it also made it more functional. Longer, better, brighter

Way to go turning that cheapie into a very nice quality light.

Maybe I will look for a place I can use a lath. Inventive as well as nice work.
When tulips droop over, I say they need Viagra in the water to keep them turgid.
