Flashlight maintenance?

Since I’m new I figured I would ask what’s best to clean and lubricate flashlights… I searched the forums and found a few old topics. What I read was certain kinds of silicone based lube is a no no - in some instances. And some people like to use Super Lube dielectric grease as well as various other lubes.

Would using some standard IPA to clean, and a couple drops of super lube be sufficient in most instances? Also, can it safely be used on the orings? Any other products that are recommended to keep the lights and electrical connections in tip top shape?

I use NyoGel

Be careful with lights that has matte-black finish like those used in some Niwalker brand, once they smudge, really difficult to remove, if at all!

For that I have a clean fine-haired soft tootbrush. Not used for anything else :innocent:

Thank you

Another vote for NyoGel.

“Standard” IPA is 70, you might want to look for 90 or greater.

I got a small jar of YEZL goop for threads and O-rings, which works nicely.
