thats something i find VERY useful as a quick reference guide
now my qustion for modding is
I am doing more Aurora V6's (have 3 bodies in the mail, since i screwed up the first 2)
I plan on recreating my Q5 (loved it)
doing an R5
and then an MC-E as a pocket rocket.
my main question is, I can get the emitter alone or a star. I am looking for a 14mm star with an MC-E on it. I am not to picky, will take a Jbin as that will be plenty of output (WOOT!)
i know it exsists, cause my MC-E p60 drop in is a 14mm circle/star.
where can i find these for the MC-E????
or preferably one premounted

They don't fit very well on a 14mm star since their long side is already 9mm.
physical specs contained on datasheet:

This is an interesting star design:
http://www.cree.com/XLampModels/XLamp%20MC-E%20Star%20PCB%20Series.pdf
For when you have higher voltage ~14v already, you only need 700ma drive for full power. The p7 is parallel only.
I wonder if it works if you use a standard 1 die regulator and hook only it across the first die and then wire the rest in series. You'll still need a source higher than the summed vf's, but you won't need a special driver.

Here you can get some bare emitters, but not the 14mm star, sorry. No free shipping, sorry again.

Well, you could in theory just use a xr-e star. Physically they're the same dimensions and electrically just soldering everything down should work.
The problem is that KD only sells a 16mm, which you'll need to sand down AND reflow for mc-e
http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1772
dx has already mounted xr-e
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3475
you'll need to take off existing emitter and add the raw mc-e.

MC-E on MCPCB , is it 14 or 16mm? Should fit in a p60 either way.

At the KD website it says 16 mm. Will fit a P60

ah but theres no bin labeling. i want to get the best bin i can. good catch tho. almost seems worth it to sand it down a bit to make it fit!!!
edit: also this is not for a p60 mod, its for a Aurora V6 mod. the empty aurora V6 on DX uses 14mm. but the mc-e has the same diameter diode as the q5 which the reflector is designed for
i plan on having 3 Aurora V6s
1 Q5
1 R5
1 MC-E (just for fun. to hot to use)

This is a great list! Any chance someone could add either CRI or color (neutral white, warm white, etc) or CCT? Thanks!
