Flashlights in movies

Yeah, like somebody dropping the light or batteries going dead. Of course, flashlights in horror movies break easily and draw lots of power

That “turbo head” can throw well with good bulb

I guess many of you know Breaking Bad? Would you think that Hank and his police mates use power LED flashlights in the bunker? (11:30-14:02)

Yeah, I’ve always loved those older turbo head 3-D cell Eveready’s.

Ummm... yes?

And Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone uses a Surefire 6P

Alien vs. Predator.
Pelican M11 series ?

Nice find, and very clear pictures!

Fight Club.
About 45 minutes in, they go into the house basement to restore power and use what looks like a maglite 2D or 3D ?

Anyone have a copy ?

Yes, I know about the First Rule of Fight Club…
And the Second Rule.

Edward Norton's character (The Narrator, or Jack) goes downstairs to turn the power off because having the power on would be a fire hazard. In my NTSC version (which is different than Australia's PAL version), the first frame that includes the flashlight is at 53:32 and the last frame is at 54:18. The flashlight is thick and quite long. Here's a couple of pictures from my low resolution copy of the film:

anyone know what dr.who is using in the angel episode ?

His sonic screwdriver, of course. It does everything.

I always loved the look in film and TV of the lightsaber-like beam emitting from their torches (always present in The X Files) for that dark atmospheric effect. We have to remember the amount of movie trickery going on in the production and editing, and the fact that extremely powerful real-life torch setups would ruin (wash out) the effects needed in any similar scene. Now that being said, I and curious what torches were being used toward the end of Hurt Locker in the urban alleyways. Hell of a throw and quite the clean beam shape (pretty much no hot spot). I imagine they maybe used some other light source than a real hand-held torch in those scenes, but I dunno.

A flashlight is the key to finding the murderer in Episode S01E11 of "Unforgettable". It is identified as a "Powerstream 4800" :D Although the actor is not given credit, I'd say it's a Fenix TK70.

Fight Club was a great movie, and the novel on which it was based is also a great weekend read. I remember the first time I saw the movie, and I saw the couple of scenes with the flashlight and thought, “wow, that’s a bright Maglite!”

Even at the turn of the century the MagCharger was a beast of a flashlight.

Wow! An LED light is a major plot point in a tv show. That’s cool! Wasn’t that series cancelled?

Could be... over here, we're just in the middle of first season.

There were quite a few TV shows I liked lately that got cancelled. Anybody remember Human Target? I thought that was a cool show.

What’s the torch in Skyfall ?
Crenellated bezel, as they head down the secret passage in the old house.

I was very upset when that show got cancelled, I rather enjoyed it.

The show Grimm, he uses a Dorcy. I can tell by the battery indicator style of tail cap

When I first saw it(before the addiction  ) I spent a while trying to find the light. I believe it was this one ?
