FOLOMOV EDC-C4 & A1 magnetic charger

Got my C4. It’s quite a bit larger than DQG Tiny, both when it comes to length and diameter. Nevertheless quite small. Quality is OK. UI is OK, the kind of a ramp works for me and I like how blinkies are out of the way. Though mode memory bugs me. As always.
The charging cable is way longer than needed. Like 4 times longer.

Lens seems uncoated, I’d like to find a replacement. I will seek GITD o-rings as well.
The light is not glued, replacing the LED with one that suits me better should be easy.
Has anyone tried to do a resistor mod?

BTW, for those who haven’t noticed:
Thanks to Folomov, EDC-C4 is no longer the smallest 18650 flashlight-powerbank.
DQG Tiny 4th is. How?….Folomov has released an 18700 battery with a built-in powerbank. Should be DQG-compatible.

ADDED:
After some use I don’t like the ramp.
Mode memory means that when I turn on the light I don’t know what mode to expect.
Ramp means that if I change mode I don’t know if it will become dimmer or brighter. :person_facepalming:
So I have to downgrade my UI rating to “bad but passable”.

I have been using the Folomov as my EDC, The only thing to make this light perfect is if it came with a Narsil interface, BTW. I switched the LED to 3A tint and just love it!

GIVE US A NARSIL INTERFACE FOLOMOV!!!

I second that.

Some more comments:
I was surprised to learn that this light accepts protected cells. And even more so to learn that it actually comes with a protected cell.
Also, it requires cells to be button top.

*_narsil - hear hear! or is it here here!? wle _*

==how did you get ramping? mine doesn;t do ramping….
do you mean the thing where it steps up til you get to the top then back down ? (L M H T H M L…)

give me narsil!
i hate mode memory too, you never know where it will start. plus you never know if it will get dimmer or brighter as you press

wle

It’s what you wrote wle, modes going up and down. Like a ramp, but stepped.

right, i hate that too… 7 presses to change one level… uck

I complained about the cable being long…
I invested a whooping $0.16 in a shorter/lighter one:

Works great. Now C4 is very comparable in size to my single-18650 powerbank.

OTOH the stock cable has its special uses too: it enables you to connect 2 devices to a single outlet and charge them simultaneously.
