I pick the second from the left, but the 3rd from the left is also amazing…… these are $800+!!! ! );
Makes me pant like a dog everytime I look at this picture lol
Number 2 is a Tain Flute which I’ve seen several go for $350-$400 on CPF and they go fast.
Number 1 is a Jetbeam TCR 10.
Number 4 is a Sunwayman V10R ti+ with mods.
Number 5 looks like another V10 ti+ with mods including a damascus bezel.
Number 7 is a Niteye Eye10 tic.
I’d buy em, if I were rich! Great looking toys. I suppose that Tain Flute would look great in your hand with a Patek Philippe slapped around your wrist.
Third from the right has a Timascus bezel [I believe made by J.Hanko], just that part alone sells for $300+ on CPF and thats excluding the trit filled light…
second from the left, the “Tain Flute”, is that a full custom or a mod? I do like that one but still, not even interested in looking for one.
I EDC a CF Sebenza and I own about $800-1000 worth of lights but I would NEVER even consider purchasing any of these, my single most expensive light is $125; a SWM V11R Mirage set that I bought myself when my son got out of the hospital (he got very sick 6 weeks after he was born and was in the NICU 23 days) and I’ve never once carried it, other than my ZL headlight its the only light I’ve never even attempted to open.
I dont get how to get trits. THEY ARE SO COOL! so they glow without any power source??! so majestic!
I searched around on the internet and i only see flashlights with trits on them and are not sold separately.
I think you’re right about it being Jeff Hanko bezel. It also looks like numbers 5 & 6 have a Jeff Hanko clip.
I only have one good flashlight and it cost less than $75 so I can’t imagine having anything this expensive let along something like this Jeff Hanko creation.
Trits are Tritium Vials, a low-yield radioactive material sealed in a tiny glass tube mostly in gas form, that glow for years. >> Tritium radioluminescence - Wikipedia
There are some places online where you can buy them of various colors and sizes.
They are not cheap but I can buy them easily here in Holland at kitmarkers.nl, they are sold to fisherman. They do not sell internationally unfortunately. I will not start a supply chain here, but a could buy a few and post them if you are interested..
There's two sides of this: all pictures exaggerate the brightness (necessarily, otherwise you woyld not see them), if there is any substantial ambient light the trits show no visible light at all. Only at candlelight levels they become visible. But now: enter the enormous dynamic range of our light perception! In almost pitch black we can still see quite well (most of us, not the ones with night blindness), so at night these trits are highly visible (just like the 0.05 lumen flashlight modes are still useful), and can even illuminate things a bit. You can read your watch by the light of one trit, and with my three-trit keychain fob I can find the key-hole, I always enjoy seeing the fob at night when I use the keys.
I see you are in the US so if you can, go to a gun shop(or find a friend) and ask to see a handgun with night sights. Night sights are regular sights with tritium vials set in to them.
I have number 1, a TCR10, though the pictured one has a custom clip and other modifications. My TCR2 has cross hatching that resembles #6 but the pictured light is highly modified and shortened if it started as a TCR2, which I doubt. Too many differences.
A bit, but your skin protects you. Apparently it is not strong enough to penetrate the skin. Even layers of dead skin will stop your body absorbing any radiation. Im not sure what would happen in that regard if you ate one, but outside your body on a necklace for example, its meant to be safe. I dont know where you stand if one should break though.
