Charity is helping others, plain and simple; the amount/value is unimportant. I am impressed by the range of kindness expressed here.
I will have to pass on this one. I have no idea what are the import rules about knives in my country.
I did give to charity in the last year, though. My gf and I went to the pet store, bought a car trunk worth of dog food and took it to my local dog shelter, about 130 lbs of food, about 30lbs of it puppy food.
I'm happy to see other members doing similar donations. I thank you all, that is a really nice thing to do, for anyone with means to do it.
Viktor
Thank you for the excellent give-away contest Chicago X. I hope we see more of this Inspirational kind in the future.
James 2:15- 18 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it? So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by my works.
Showing works is not a Sin. Vanity is, but recognition where it's due is a good thing.
Edit: Not entering contest, as I'm not interested in these particular knives. But have volunteered plenty with my Church.
I have read and will abide by the rules.
I have $25 a week taken out of my paycheck for the united way along with contributing to other charities.
this was braggin’ i admit it hehe (and ive deleted the post). anyway, a few weeks ago i made up my mind and changed the general procedure of how to tackle the door situation especially when i am aware that no proper dimensioned
bank notes are available in the house: very simple, i use the door opener installation (the door vid cam isnt in use) to first ask who’s out there. I would immediately release the buzzer for the mailman (flashlights, accessories, multitools, …) and be prepared to release or not release it if it’s …etc… :money_mouth_face:
I have read and abide by your rules.
I donate blood at least once a year and also donate to the Goodwill shop each year.
Thanks for the raffle, my friend!
thanks for doing something fun and generous, and i'm sorry that it somehow caused a completely inappropriate s*&%storm. i'm pretty sure that was the last thing you expected when posting this. i am dumbfounded as to how it happened, and how you were criticized for doing something nice. your post above stated you have been impressed with people's kindness on this forum. i completely agree, and have often felt pretty humbled and lucky (i'd say blessed, but i don't want any selective bible quotes coming my way) to associate, albeit just online, with some really great people. keep in mind that you, sir, are one of those great people, and have showed it repeatedly on this forum. i'm sure elsewhere as well. keep doing what you do, and don't let the out of nowhere, no basis bunk, deter you at all.
everyone is entitled to their viewpoint. selectively quoting things is not a good way to support that viewpoint though. there are other selective quotes that support otherwise, and ignoring those is pontification in the worst way. this is not a religious forum, but i am going to state my opinion here anyway, and that is any religion is at its worst when it self-righteously tells others they are wrong and bad, and there is only one right way. the fact that you were effectively told that while doing something generous and kind is completely absurd.
Thank you for your kind offer. I have read and will follow all stipulated rules.

I've always loved what the Salvation Army does for our country so I'm always dropping off old clothes and unused household items. I even give them tons of avocadoes and tangerines when they are in season. Just a little something for the employees to take home.
Thank you for this Chicago X!
