Feel free to send 'em this way. I have a weakness for 1970's b00bs.

I have read and will abide all the rules of this generous giveaway. Chcago X - this is a wonderful method to bring the importance of "giving back" to our group's attention. By the way, as an animal lover myself, it seems you've also chosen an excellent charity.

I have designed courses for, and taught basic computer literacy to the disabled and disadvantaged. I have also fixed and upgraded donated computers for use by the same community. The volunteer work described has been done under the auspices of more than one non-profit organization: Project Peach at Advocates Inc., the Boston Resource Center, NAMI and so on. (These organizations can be found on the Internet.)

As with others, I have donated to the Salvation Army, Savers and other organizations that help the needy.

Regards, -Bob- (KumaBear)

Have read/will abide.

In addition to contributing to the fireman's boot drive (more than just change/my son is a Las Vegas City fire fighter) I've given several bucks-up flashlights to persons in need/can't afford it.

I'm basically a me absorbed narcissist but I've found that empathy and self aggrandizement can indeed, coexist.

I have read and will abide by the rules.

I am waaay over 18.

My wife and I volunteer at her hospital 2x a month. We've been doing so for over 4 yrs now. We also support the SG police dept with pledges (My lil bro is a cop there). We also volunteer at the red cross, usually during blood drives. And we also visit a local convalescent home once a month and sing gospel songs while i play the guitar.

If i win, i would like to donate the prize to the narcissist above!

Thanks for the giveaway X! This is really the most giving hobbyist forum there is!

I'm impressed by the number of folks who give blood here; I can't do the needle thing, so I am personally grateful for those who can !!!

You're right about this forum, FM...but after reading about the different charitable causes supported by the membership, it's no great surprise.

As I have not been a member long enough, I am ineligible for this giveaway. I am, however, rather thoroughly impressed by the generosity and spirit of helping being shown around here.

I guess we all have to offset the guilt of buying boxes and crates of flashlights.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go have a cookie after giving blood.

I have read and will abide by the rules. Iam 30 years old.

I helped to believe in god an old woman, that just even can't move. That take more than a month. She's at god's hands now. That's not much, but I did my best at that time.

I read the rules an accept them. I'm over 18, longer BLF member than 30 days.

I donate blood twice a year to Rotes Kreuz (that the german equivalent to Red Cross).

I’m a member in a sports club (swimming). We do some action every year to collect money for a orphanage in Tanzania, Africa. They bought with the money water pipes to bring water to the estate. The next step was a water tank and a water filter to get drinking water. Before this, they have to buy it and a water truck brought it.

The filter is good, but the water is only for drinking water and cooking, not for a shower or take a bath every day – there ins’t enough water for this and not enough energy to get it warm - they use wood to cook with a fire.

To take a bath they use the river which is near the house. Every child can take a short warm shower every 10-14 days.

I know, that sounds crazy for us, who open the water tap and get water every time we want it. If we want to take a shower, we’ll do. We don’t think about it and in other parts of the world, this is luxury.

A friend and member of the club lived there for 9 months and told us about the conditions. This was the milestone, why we began to do something. We do some actions to collect money for the project every year and help them with it.

Here is a link to my club and some pictures of the project

  • I have read and abide by the rules of the giveaway
  • We've had alot of charities at my school, and i've given to one or two. But the only one I can remember the name of is march of dimes. Gave a couple bucks to it a few times in november.

I'll jump in.

I read and understand the rules of this giveaway del X

Charity work is great. Let's see, in the last couple months I spent some time visiting sick kids in the local children's hospital, plus donated blood, and donated canned food to/went and helped sort donations at our local food bank.

Thanks X!

Less than 8 hours to go - let's see some more entries !!!

I'm impressed with the group so far, but not entirely surprised. It illustrates the quality of the membership here very well.

Like most of the people, I dont do charity to be appreciated or respected for it, but the many stories convinced me to join in.

I have read all rules and will obide by them.

We have a local youth center where I help take care of teens about my age (some a little younger, some a little older) which want to get away from drugs. Its pretty tough to see and a lot of people dont understand why I do that but its a very special feeling when you meet someone a year later and hear that hes sober now. Sadly, most dont succeed..

The best!!!

That smilie is too much. LOL

I have read and will abide by the rules.

i donate to my local MRM mission.

Well, perky is also good.

Giveaway is CLOSED, winners to be announced shortly.

Thanks to all who participated !

Crossing fingers!
