What is going on with the reflector?

Interesting reflector design, I would like to see how it solves the blinding problems most lanterns have. It needs a downward facing shade that directs the light down or reflects it down

The general design and lantern function is interesting for sure.
Depending on the price, but i would very likely buy one.
Also i would like to see a bigger version that can take (multiple) bigger batteries to get longer runtimes, which might come handy when using it as a lantern.

I love the look of the thing, very steampunk. 
It’s a bit of a confused design. It has a clip that is impractical, and a lanyard ring that locks into the base (pic 1). If it was hung from the lanyard ring it wouldn’t hang vertically. The clip I don’t get at all.
Practicality aside, it’s a very cool looker and I’d grab one at a decent price.
Looks like a Chinese domeless led, maybe the SFS80.
