I didn’t realize. Just had a look around and it certainly is an expensive chip. A little disappointed about a BLF GT kit now as it would be quite expensive

Not only it is expensive, it is extremely tough to obtain in bulk. Many flashlight manufacturer in CN are facing the same problem for this rare emitter. I hope Luminus would ramp up their production by next year.

Anyway to tell the flashlight manufacturers to request Luminus make some higher flux bin ones? Currently only the low flux bin ones are available on the market.

With Banggood shipping there’s no telling. I’ve received all of my orders but never in a timely manner. Sometimes after waiting weeks they message me saying the item is out of stock. Then two days later it’s shipped. The key to Banggood is patience. I usually forget I even have an order coming by the time it arrives. Then eventually I have a pleasant surprise in the mailbox lol

From what I gather from info listed for shipping the first “100” of the group buy would be having their lights shipped at the end of December while for batch 2 would be end of January.

It’s not that uncommon for early production to be low bin (either flux or color). As production ramps up and they tune the process, lumens/watt and tint get better.
