Has this been tested?
No but I can run the NI40 SBT90.2 for about 1.5 mins before I feel the need to step it down. This is indoors at room temp (about 22°C). FT03 has more thermal mass so it should last a tiny bit longer. It also has less cooling fins so it might take longer to cool down once heated up.
Edit: I just tested my EC01 and managed to run it for 2 mins. At this point the head temp was 58°C max and the body was getting quite warm, especially near the head. The SBT90.2 pulls around 50% more current than the XHP50.2 so even in this tiny light it could probably handle 1 minute on turbo.
It is end december and my (ordered during first batch offer) FT03 is not shipped, instead Banggood now mentions a shipping date of 2020,Jan,30.
I hope that the extra time is used on maximising performance and reliability.
I hope it’s for performance/reliability tweaking too but somehow I think they’re just having trouble sourcing the emitters.
