The Million Dollar question, at least for me, CAN this LED run on TURBO for 15 or 20 minutes straight with the 30T/40T or P42A??? I can not mod these like many of you guys. I buy some 40T’s and my LED explodes, I have a problem!
I know I am different and I know very few [if any] members on here are hiking 4 to 5 miles every night on the trail where their lights are on CONSTANT TURBO unless heat[summer time ] becomes and issue!
I guess the only way to find out is First, have enough modders DISPROVE what the early consensus was[ no added output from 21700 high drains] and then I do extended turbo runs and find out! :person_facepalming: :sunglasses:
No. Freeme’s Deal #2 coupon is still active at the time of this posting.
The literal pre-order was sold out over a month ago, but I just went to the Banggood item page, added a CW to my cart via the Pre-Order button, entered the coupon from the original post, the price dropped to $31.99, and the system allowed me to check out with PayPal.
I did not finalize the order, but I know from experience that the system won’t let you pay if the pre-order is locked or out of stock. The NW light says Sold Out and grays out the button, so you can’t add that version to your cart. However, you should also check the Banggood App as it may allow ordering NW. If it does, don’t expect to get a NW light anytime soon. There’s probably a good reason Banggood has it Sold Out.
There have been 26 more “pre-orders” in just the last couple of days, but they are probably for the Cool White version, which states “Processing time:Expected on May 9, 2019”. Banggood has said that orders should be shipped sooner if they them get stock (see this post).
$31.99 is slightly higher than the initial coupons, but I think everyone so far agrees that this is a great price for this light.
My NW light now says shipped. We’ll see what happens. It was ordered 2019-03-21 via the Banggood app as the website was not allowing pre-orders at that time.
Oh, and chances are good that I’ll receive the light before I have a 26650 cell for it .
I guess due to the high demand and very low price for what u get they maybe didnt produce enough or something… it seems weird that long, i mean they must producing several hundreds lights / week ….
Ordered mine 3/25 (NW). Just got the message that it shipped this morning and is due to arrive 5/4. Very excited. Just have to figure out the battery to get for it now.
I don’t have to get the “maximum” performance from this light, so considering bang for the buck, what would be the best cell to get?
Straight with no knockdown? Unless we are talking sub-freezing temps or on a bike (air flow), I doubt any light in this form factor with a FET based driver and good cell could do that - any light.
Mine was shipped today. Time to order a battery. Is there any significant difference beside size between 21700 and 26650? Im looking primarily for highest capacity and good value for money. What would you recommend?
I do not know what kind of driver my M2Xvn [XML2 PDT] , M25C2vn[Oslon] and U21vn [XPL PDT]. ALL Three are single mode Direct Drive…tail switch activation w/ M2Xvn and M25vn and Twist/tighten tail cap to activate U21vn
ALL Three can run until battery depletion, even in the summer. :+1: They do not even get hot. M2X and U21 have ~ 1400 lumens, the M25C2 has 700 w/ Oslon.
FT03 has more lumens and is probably different.
Tom, please take this into consideration! No pain, no gain!
20 minutes later[when I got home] AFTER using TN42vn 90 in the summer,on/off 8 to 10 minute turbo runs!!
Yep - those are totally different. Don't think any of those mentioned will produce the amps this light can with the SST-40. The SST-40 is a low voltage LED, unlike good old XPL's or XM-L2's for example. Dunno what Oslon exactly the M25C2 has - driven amps greatly depends on the exact LED, but I don't think any will get as high as an SST-40.
Also cold temps means gloves, so a hand can tolerate more heat.
I apologize, I did not get my concern/point/question across because I did not word it properly!
Doing an ANSI test with 21700’s is going to give you the output at 30 seconds. That is about it, besides some hope that it can last longer on max.
It will Not indicate how this LED will handle 5, 10 or 15 minute turbo runs throughout my hike[cool down when needed] and doing that night after night.
I guess nobody knows until it is done.
Hope you get you light today! Mine is leaving Cally soon!
