Yes, that is much better then the original clip! For me, I want the flashlight further in my pocket and I want the clip tight. That way, I don’t have to worry about the light falling out of my pocket easily while still making it easy to access. (I learned quickly - after getting my AA Tool 2.0 - that I prefer deep pocket clips and now don’t get EDC lights without it!)
Agreed. That new proposed deep carry clip looks good.
I also agree with Dzeric’s point: The portion of the clip above the clip ring needs to have a sufficiently wide gap to allow it to slip over the edge of a pocket. If the gap is too narrow, it will jam up when you try to pocket carry it and isn’t really deep-carry.
And check the tip of the clip: The lip of the clip should extend enough above the body or head of the flashlight enough that the user can hook it onto a pocket one-handed. In your picture, the lip seems to be offly close the flashlight body. It might not be possible to hook that light onto a pocket without manually lifting up the tip of the clip.
Also, count me in for one of those 14500 LEP lights. Any idea when the group buy will be?
Additionally, the gap between the clip and the tailcap should be as small as possible. This is important to maximize the slimness in pocket.
I like design ‘A’ better. It is less likely to scratch object that I may end up brushing across while clipped on my jeans.
EDIT⋮ Firelight points out an additional level of detail about the tip /opening. Having enough to start easily but not too much to snag other things while wearing.
I like the 14500 lep with the proposed clip. And having a choice between gold and silver would Be great. I personally like the gold alot. Why don’t a company make a xl lep light? So many already this size. Someone needs to make one with a 4 inch head…or something big enough for do 3 million lux
