Yes the adapter (plastic sleeve) is included. I find for maximum output and runtime using the biggest battery possible is always best.
I use protected keeppower 26650s for this light.
21700 are not recommended because it fully compresses the springs. People report they fit, but just barely. You can try it and see if it fits.
Power wise, that’s a good battery.
Is that for an 18650 or 21700? I thought it was an 18650 sleeve.
I’ve fit 21700 in other 26650 lights and never needed a sleeve.

i choose 26650. because (in my country) 26650 lower price than 21700
there are plenty of high drain 26650 cells so no problem running those in this light, its designed for this battery anyways.
For US buyers looking to get batteries fast, eBay has vapcell 5900 mah 26650 for $16.99 delivered for two batteries and a case.
I believe they are Shockli batteries just labeled differently.

I just saw a review that says this light can power on via the charger port without a battery even in it. Has anyone tried this function? Is it safe for long term use?
