Whoa. Haven’t been around for a while now. Cool to see a copper version is here! Also, anyone know if the FA3’s have been tested by anyone here? Are they different enough from the typical green 4000K examples in circulation to bite on?
I was under the impression the SST-20’s would be @ $5 less. Oh well, great little light and I like supporting nealsgadgets. Everything has been spot on so far. Awesome packaging as well. Not a box in a bag. Thanks to all on this endeavor.
Edit- I used wrong code. Remember to use the code sent via PM from the FW3A TEAM. I feel stupid now.
Oh boy, big updates! I’m definitely going to get an SST-20 version now that a good tint bin has been acquired. I might finally be able to own a high CRI emitter that I prefer to the XP-L HI. The green SST-20 in my Convoy S2+ is not pleasant to look at.
Few quick questions:
Will this batch of FW3A and FW3C flashlights be running the latest version of Anduril with the improvements released on the 2nd June?
Does the FW3C still have a bead blasted finish, or is the production light polished?
Is an FW3Ti expected to be released quite soon too?
So it does. My bad, I completely blanked that when I viewed the page. I think the photo threw me off, as it was first shown when we were talking about how the prototype was bead blasted. Great to hear that they’ve polished the final version!
Edit: As far as people wondering what the 7A looks like, you can always look at pictures but it won’t do it proper justice.
Obviously it’s a warm tint but like if you take a picture with AWB your brain and eyes adjust. Similarly if you first use a 5000K flashlight and then switch to say 3000K, obviously it will look very warm and weird at first.
As I’m from Finland and there’s no proper darkness during the summer I won’t really know if I like the 7A until later this year when I can really use the FW3A. But so far, using it indoors and occasionally outside for extra illumination it’s quite nice and pleasant.
Also a 7A owner. My first properly warm white flashlight. I really like it for indoor use - it looks just like my incandescent lightbulbs. Candle mode is very pleasant too.
