I’m a big fan of carbon steel blade, you can resharpened them in less than 15 seconds and it will be crazy sharp! :face_with_monocle:
But you can only find them in traditional knifes and chef knifes…
Sorry for a general knife question in a Ganzo thread, but a man needs an answer. I searched and stropping was previously discussed here. Can someone suggest a link for a leather strop that has reasonable price and EU shipping. I would like to acquire a new skill
i just got the ganzo firebird and its a lot longer than id thought.
seems hard to find shorter ganzo knives, i just put in an order for a sanrenmu 710.
can someone suggest ganzos that are in the 160-ish mm range? ill be mainly cutting cardboard boxes and cord/rope (that means a “pointy” blade is preferred).
This are really nice looking except for the blacked out blades. Why would they do that? I don’t mean that it looks bad. It actually looks pretty sweet but from what I’ve seen the black coating always wears off and ends up looking trashed with any regular use. I’d like to see if they make those in a stonewashed or plain finish. Dig the holsters. I see a seat belt cutter and there are obviously extras based on the additional pocket and the nub sticking off the back of the handle. I’d think glass breaker but there’s no sharp point I can see. Thanks for posting those. Ganzo makes some impressive looking knives. I wish they had better customer service though. I reached out to them through the contact us link on their website because I need a replacement clip which I explained in detail and all I got back was a generic response.
I replied back to them with all the requested info and a repeat of what I needed a month and a half ago and got no response. I think it took three weeks to get my initial generic response. I guess at their prices customer support isn’t part of the deal…
Ganzo labels their steel as 8Cr13MoV instead of 440C. Strange.
I do like the Ganzo branding and especially the slightly communist looking logo much more than the generic Firebird name and logo.
If they at least came up with some ancient Chinese name or so.
Ok, even worse is Real Steel Knives, I mean, seriously?
I really like my Griffin folder though, but the brand name is crap…
