GANZO KNIVES, 6&7-SERIES

So much printing… incl. Made in China! :person_facepalming:

You might try to remove the spring.
Here is my G7212 taken apart:

Of course, that’s possible but my automatic Ganzo would rattle without the spring inside because the spring is pressing the pbalde towards the button lock - without that tension the blade can move into the handle.

I could live without that text, too, and I like the communist looking hammer symbol more than the generic firebird one, incl. the name.
If at least they would etch the logo a bit more towards the pivot so it would “rest” in the finger groove in closed position…

I need a knife like a hole in the head, but I’m about to pull the trigger on the wood handle 7452 and 7372. Are there any better coupon codes than out12off. This one gives 12% off, but wondering if there’s anything better before I buy.

And what’s the difference between stone washed or sanding finish?

Try OUT15OFF

Gah, just bought them using the 12% coupon. That extra dollar gone forever. Oh well…

That 7582AL is a thing of beauty. Just have to decide between orange, blue or purple…

Well, sanding means to grind the blade with sandpaper, either the cutting edge only or the whole blade when it’s a custom(ized) knife.

I guess what you mean is stonewashed or satinized. When the blade shows the fine grinding lines from the grinding, either on a stone wheel or on a belt sander, that’s called satin blade because it’s shimering like satin fabric.
If you take this blade, dip it into an acid (ferric chloride is the safest way) and throw it into a box filled with pebbles or special ceramic or even plastic tiles then you get a surface that’s looking “frosted” (if you do it right). You get many little scratches on the surface which are good to hide the ones that you get from actually using a knife.
Ganzo knives usually have a very nice stonewashed blades, so if you like it, go for it.

For myself I learned that stonewashing and coating are a good way for the makers to use 2nd grade blades.
On a satinized blade an uneven line is easy to see, on a stonewashed blade not so much.

I have some stonewashed blades, it’s good for user knives, but when I really like a design I go for the satin blade these days, the G 7533CF was my last coated blade (but it’s stonewashed, or blackwashed, now, too).

Exactly my 1st world problem…

Somebody has been trying the ganzo g749? is it better than the g752?

Just going off what gearbest said. Makes sense it’s satin finish as I had no idea what sanding finish was. Typo probably. Thanks for all the info!

I’m planning to order the G749 but I’m still waiting for the satin version to be available.

Yes, there is a satin blade version but there is not in standard shops. In some ways i like the g749 more than the g752. But i do not know…

Just discovered this thread while looking for some info on the G758. I’m at work but will come back to it later

Man, Ganzo hit the nail on the head with the G758 as far as autos go.
But for the love of God, why in the hell did they have to mess up an otherwise awesome looking knife by adding some lame and useless engravings:

  1. Made by China Ganzo => yeah, we know :person_facepalming:
  2. Padlock lock/unlock symbol => yeah, we’re not stupid :person_facepalming:

The knife looks expensive but these 2 things make it look cheap.
A lot of times, less is more.

I feel the same as you do, hey should maybe offer a clean version someday.

One thing that puzzles me is that the pivot screw is countersunk on the Firebird show side but not so on the Ganzo text side.
Little thing but looking weird.

Anyways, is there anyone who owns one of them already?

Oh, about the lock symol, I think a little lock engraved into the slider would be a good compromise but I assume that’s the more expensive way to do it.

Good catch on the pivot screw, I hadn’t noticed, weird for sure.

I don’t think anyone here would have one yet as it seems very new.
I only discovered it a couple of hours ago during a quick unboxing on youtube

Not a review but a least a quick look at it.
