GANZO KNIVES, 6&7-SERIES

Nice!
The white padlocks on the black handle just stand out like a mofo though.
At least you can’t miss if you’re locked or not LOL!

Hey Nugget, did you order them from Bladeforum@DHgate?
If so, how long did it take from the moment you placed the order to when you received it?
The reason I’m asking is because I can’t really import those to Canada but could have them shipped to a family member in the US that is coming for Xmas.
The problem is that it’s only 3 weeks away so it might be a bit tight, especially now during Xmas season.

Ordered Nov 13 (late in the evening = China next day)
Shipped Nov 17
Left China Nov 22
Entered Sweden Nov 28
Received Nov 30

at the time of the ordering the seller was yet to receive it
roughly ~ 2½ weeks from door-to-door, but as we know, Xmas congestion may add to that

Bladeforum@DHgate was not available at the time, so I purchased it from DAI@DHgate

the padlock marking is very useful when handled by non-knife-aficionados

My general impression (15 minutes of use) is “this is a Ganzo lover MUST buy”

Thanks Nugget!
Yeah, that was pretty fast.
Still debating risking it as things do get delayed around Xmas.
I will go visit my family member for Easter, so worst case I’ll get it at that time.
Now need to decide on the color.
I know I don’t want black as most of my knives are black.
I’m not into very bright colors, so blue, orange and purple are out.
I like the grey one but I’m also intrigued by the champagne color, although it’s quite difficult for me to figure out the exact color based on the pictures I see.
Decisions, decisions …. first world problems

just order it to your place in Canada. It’s highly unlikely it will be stopped. I’ve received by post a microtech scarab OTF clone and very recently, a carbon Ganzo G748 auto. Only have the one knife shipped at a time… the really small packages seem to receive less scrutiny. They (the autos) never leave the house, and are for collecting purposes only. I’d suggest you follow the same procedure as the penalties for carrying one around can be quite stiff. just my 2 cents… your mileage may vary.

+ you, or your relative, faces a greater risk of being caught by physically passing through customs.

You’ve been very lucky and I’m glad you have but unfortunately, we have very different experiences.
I’ve been importing knives for about 3 years now, and up to 6 months ago, never had any problem.
Then it all went down hill since the time I tried to import a balisong and it got caught.
Now over the past 6 months I have had 5 other packages being seized since, and all being perfectly legal knives in Canada, no balisong or autos, just regular frame locks, liner locks, flippers and axis locks.
The knives that CBSA shakes hard enough and the blade happens to pop out (most axis locks and folders without flippers will do that), they confiscate them under being “centrifugal knives”
If the knife doesn’t open that way but has a flipper tab, then they flip it and if it’s a good flipper which will actually flip the knife open into the locking position, they will confiscate it under being an auto.
My last knife that got seized was a TwoSun TS40 that I bought of Ebay, do a quick google search for it. It got seized under being an auto :person_facepalming:
I called CBSA every time and tried to explain and argue the decision but all for nothing.
Basically, CBSA can and will confiscate whatever knife they fill like. Do some search and you’ll find tons of examples.

Any luck finding these yet?

Black blade / G10 handle at DAI’s shop: G7563-GR G7563-BK G7563-OR

I bought mine at powercutlery.com, they are located in California I believe.

Has there been any word on the Titanium Ganzo? Somehow I got in into my head they were releasing some info after Thanksgiving.

No sign of it yet … I bet it will be a Firebird branded knife
The new version of the Ganzo G704 is named ”Firebird F7041-CF”:http://www.dhgate.com/product/firebird-f7041-cf-hunting-outdoor-pocket/393945580.html

The g704 is eternal!.

That knife started my interest in these knives

CHANGES

At least they reduced the text a bit with the Made by Ganzo slogan, we know it’s Made in PRC anyways…

the Firebird is now replacing the old logo

Firebird = Vermilion bird?
The Vermilion bird is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellations
According to Wu Xing - the Taoist five-elemental system - it represents the fire-element, the direction south, and the season summer correspondingly

Vermilion = a brilliant scarlet red

I wish they skipped the FIREBIRD text of the logo on the blade … less is more

The classics of each brand in all of time… hall of fame…
I would say: g704 from ganzo, el01 from enlan and 710/7010 and 763/7063 from sanrenmu.

It true that a lot of time from since that models and there are new popular models like ganzo g720, g729, sanrenmu 7056… but, the most popular in the history of chinese knives i think are g704, el01 and 710/763. It is not easy to do a list altough.

In my opinion, You selected each brand’s classic icons

These are classics and I’m really happy, to have old editions (a black 763, Enlan EL01 (old box, but switched to the new screw - from 3 hole to the triangle), oldschool Ganzo black G704 (not in good shape, bladeplay) and new edition and most colored versions.

Hope they will also built a Firebird F7041 stonewashed version. The Firebird letters aren’t nice on the knife, but without it people, who do not know Ganzo knives, would think: Which brand is it?

If your brand is famous like Spyderco you need only the symbol.

Possibly, new models will go to the hall of fame in a time like the old g704, el01 and so:

For example: ganzo g720, ganzo g729, ganzo g753, sanrenmu 7056… even the y-start jin02 who knows (but i like more the jin01 i think). Classics to the hall of fame!.

Nice
I hope they’ll come with a CF version of the G727 as well, I’ve been waiting for one for a while.
