GANZO KNIVES, 6&7-SERIES

Also, and correct me if I am wrong; the Ganzo CF scales are not solid CF. They are G10 with one layer of CF cloth on top.

You can see on the pic above that it is as you said, CF on G10.
That’s just the same stuff that Spyderco and Kershaw (and others) use (very nice on the Atmos and Natrix)
It seems to be a good compromise of the G10’’s toughness and the CF’s prettyness.

The CF is still brittle, so I’d prefer Sanded edges like I’ve did it on the G7533CF or like on the Atmos and the like.
It’s also (nearly) same heavy as it would be with pure G10, CF is still much lighter.

Yes, I had not looked closely at the picture of your 7533CF… the sanded scales look great. And it is also easy to see in your picture it is a CF laminate.
Thank you.

You’re welcome. There’s even an unfinished business.

Before I had the idea for the clip I’ve shortened the fasteners so they wouldn’t be visible on the inside. Should’ve left them as they were.

Great job on the clip and scales Adahn.

Thank you. Too bad that I picked a lemon with that one.
The blade dulls faster than the 8Cr13MoV on my old SRM 710

Pretty but not very useful, let’s call her The Lady :stuck_out_tongue:

Ganzo firebird FH61-GB in green g10 with D2 steel. I paid $30 for this little knife and wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I do. The detent is dialed in perfect for thumbing, spyderco flicking and it does both push button and light switching with the flipper tap. The g10 could be a bit more grippy but overall it’s a great knife and not just for the price. Bought from

Good Steel. Well Made.
But they put Half the blade somewhere else I think.
Lost it??

First thing I do with those Tanto’s. is grind off the two bulges in blade bottom half
where cutting edge changes direction
Fair it off and smooth out the agle in cutting edge.
Then it’s usable.
I’ve yet to find a use for Tanto. Other than somebody’s Aesthetics?.
Chisel blade?.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the Ganzo model number prefixes? For example, does FB always refer to an axis lock with a bearing pivot? Does FH always refer to a flipper with a bearing pivot and liner lock? Does F refer to an axis lock with a washer type pivot? What does G refer always refer to a liner lock with a washer pivot?

I’d say the G was simply for Ganzo, like Ganzo G-704.
The F seems to stand for Firebird, the new brand name.

B and H could be serial letters imo.

You mean a series letter. FH knife series all are flippers with bearings and liner locks.
So far, all the FB series have axis locks with bearings Are there any exceptions that this is not true?

I just received this knife today, but will be returning it tomorrow. The G-lock springs are extremely stiff and painful to operate. I lubed the lock and tried to work it about 500 times with no improvement. Maybe I just got a bad one.

This is Axis lock knife with bearings that works well out of the box. I love the blued hardware with the camo G10 scales. It feels great in the hand with a bit more to grab onto. It weighs more, too, but I really like it.

This one review on Amazon is a bit concerning. Are you able to confirm or deny?

Great knife. I carried one for a year and never cut myself because of the blade sticking out.

There is no way that can happen. The tip of the blade rests within the handle and is recessed about 3 mm from the end of the knife where the deep pocket clip is attached. That’s far from nearly sticking out. Furthermore, even if I forcefully push my finger into that tip end of the handle and try to feel the tip, I can’t. Perhaps, rhe reviewer hadn’t fully closed the blade?

Got a FH41 and few F759M’s yesterday.

Very impressed with the quality and operating smoothness of the FH41.

The F759M are a older model with a low price, all stiff in opening and closing, but I think still good value for money, with a good grip and feel.
