GB Interest ///OFFICIALLY CLOSED 11/8 @ 9pm CST/Maxtoch M24 Sniper with XP-L HI /// 250K lux @ 4.3 Amps!!!

More lumen and throw ?

I`m in.

Gerrit, If I remember didn’t you get one of the M24’s I did the GB on?

If so, imagine that light with another 50 to 70K lux and a more neutral or natural tint, and bigger head.

Oh yea if it goes through, more throw for sure.

EDIT: Actually the 2X will have another 100K lux more. I forgot I put the dedomed U4 emitter in one of my M24’s from the GB ,which brought it up to around 300K lux. The GB light is at 250K lux and the 2X that is wanted , will be doing around 350K lux.

Hello David,

Yes, I have the m24 TE and it’s great.

I also have the M24 stock and the 2X with the larger head.

I love MAXTOCH

Thanks for the update. I’m looking to buy a new thrower in the next couple of months and I feel like this is worth waiting for. Is there any specs you could tease us with? Or maybe a new thread so we don’t cluster this one up?

OOOOOH ME WANT IN ON 2X GB!!!

Right now I have stated all I can without it being speculation. If I get any updates I will post them here and if the 2X does get the OK to go into production with the specs that are being sought after, I am sure there will be a new thread pop up for it.

Sounds good, thanks!

I’ve just seen beam shots of the Acebeam K70 and I must say I’m impressed.
It would be great if the 2X could match this.

Acebeam certainly will be powerful, but its a very heavy light with 50mm tube and weighing 590gms without batts (3). With batts it is approx 734 gms/1.6 pounds which is a whopper. It will come into the category of fun light like the BTU Shocker, but you would not want it on your rifle, or be holding it out a truck window spotlighting all night…

The new Maxtoch prototype 2X is designed specifically to be a lightweight, and weighs in at just 308gms on my kitchen scales. It will be ideal for scope mounting or as handheld. Output if we can achieve desired specs could be around 340-350k. Certainly experiments show we could get more lux, but the aim is an overall high level of torch performance - not just a 10m lux reading which looks great on paper, lasts only 2 minutes, and does not in experiments translate to best throw downrange.

As Robo says - Maxtoch now have desired specs and we should know production decisions soon.

A question - could be wrong here but didn’t Acebeam have serious QA/safety issues with lights recently. What was that about and has it been resolved?

I have not seen the Acebeam you are talking about Gerrit . but here is the Maxtoch M24 Sniper with 4.5 amp driver and dedomed U4 1C in it at 500 yards and 655 yards and a little on the misty side on both shots, with the 655 yard shot being a little more misty than the 500yard. A good clear night it is even better than this. The M24 is doing around 300K lux where the 2X would be doing around 340+K lux if desired specs are achieved, as mudgripz mentioned.

The 2X with the same driver and emitter will have even more throw. I have not had a chance to do the driver and emitter change with the prototype yet , but I assure you it will do even better than this M24 with the 2X having a bigger head and tighter hotspot.

The little white looking thing on the right side of the road, past the 4th telephone pole in picture is the target at 655 yards.

Hi David,

These are the movies on youtube

It does look like it throws well. I would like to have the 2X with the 4.5amp driver and dedomed U4 and the K70 to do a side by side with as far as throw. That thing is a huge chunk of light though. The M24 is only about half the weight of the K70 and the 2X isn’t much more than the M24.

Well, then we can assume that if it goes ahead it will be okay in terms of distance.

Well we can also assume the 2X is gonna be a fraction of the price of the K70! Teehee! :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a fact

Thanks for posting this!

I just swapped the stock switch for an Omten 1288 style reverse clicky clone.

It went together just like you said it would. Thanks again!

Been a happy M24 Sniper owner but I’m real interested in this tweaked 2X.

The dedomed U3 M24 runs at about 210-220k lux, the BLF XPL M24 at 250k, and the last model 2X factory dedomed ran at 280k.

This new model 2X will be substantially higher - well over 300k in tests - but it will be a wee while yet.

Can’t wait! Missed out last time, but I’m in this time. Any ideas on the price range it will be in?

The price is still undetermined as to what the emitters end up costing and what switch is used and a few variables. It should end up in the 80 to 100 dollar range though if I had to guess. Of course if a Group Buy were to follow the release, then the 2X could be priced better I am sure.
