This Baofeng radio does NOT include the data cable. The item description should’ve said that you can not use the radio without the cable -> without the cable the radio can not be programmed at all. The Gearbest shop doesn’t have the cable and the only sources ebay and AE show it as pretty expensive (depending on the seller the cable will cost almost as much as the discounted radio itself).

What is it USB cable for?
That USB cable is only for charging the battery. Unfortunately chirp or any other software errors out with that cable. Weird, because the other data cable goes into the same connector but has some chip in it (common for HT data cables).
The device itself (and Gearbest shipping) is fine but, unfortunately, useless without a data cable that has to be purchased separately. The regular Baofeng data cables won’t work either (they have no USB).

Apologies for the confusion, Gearbest team. The picture is correct, IMO, the charging cable IS included. Unfortunately, the device can not be programmed with the cable provided (or I do not know which software uses this cable). This could be a simple misunderstanding, but the data cable which can be seen across the web also looks different.

This is one example of the program cable that we must buy after the radio purchase.
The seller should put more information about the radio that is a “Specific Program Radio transceiver”
I am not trying to be smart ass, but thing on image seems to me like the ordinary USB cable? Or what’s so special with this USB cable?
If that’s correct, every household have most likely plenty of them (phone charging, flashlight USB charging, etc…). Or they can be purchased everywhere around for $1 - $2 or so.
