What is it USB cable for?

That USB cable is only for charging the battery. Unfortunately chirp or any other software errors out with that cable. Weird, because the other data cable goes into the same connector but has some chip in it (common for HT data cables).

The device itself (and Gearbest shipping) is fine but, unfortunately, useless without a data cable that has to be purchased separately. The regular Baofeng data cables won’t work either (they have no USB).

I am not trying to be smart ass, but thing on image seems to me like the ordinary USB cable? Or what’s so special with this USB cable?

The cable costs about the same as the discounted radio, it apparently has a chip inside which normal USB cables don’t have. This is common for Baofeng radios though. But because this radio model only has a USB connector the data cable is expensive (plus the regular Baofeng cables don’t fit). Unfortunately there is no way to use the radio itself without a cable (it can only be programmed with a computer).

The alternative would be finding a programming software compatible with the radio and a regular USB cable; that solution might not exist though. (I am looking through the chirp internet resources to figure out whether they might add this radio model).

So if anyone wants to buy this radio model: atm, be prepared to shell out another 6-9 bucks for a cable from another seller (ebay or AE).
