As a Realtor I often give adult clients a nice torch to go along with their new home but never the children. Showing a family tonight their soon to be new home the son was enamored with my SC21 so of course I told him I will get him one for his new home. Not really into the simple on/off torches so really have never looked into any of them. Any ideas on a simple light with onboard charging?
I don’t know if I’d be giving a 7 year old rechargeable anything, id probably just give him a cute colored maglite mini pro
But if you feel comfortable gifting a rechargeable, you may want to look at convoy s21e (they come in cute colors) and skilhunt ec200
I always liked the S11C. Kind of a zommie but doesn’t go all the way to projecting The Bat Signal and has a useful beam at both extremes. Nothing fancy, not a screamer that’d set the house on fire, just a decent useful light.
They already have rechargeable phones. But yes, the battery shouldn’t be accessable.
Lights with built-in battery might be considered. Like keychain lights or, for instance, Wurkkos HD01 (with fancy color lights as a bonus) oops, it has laser.
My daughter (now 10) has a Convoy T3 with a NiMH battery and set to the max 50% mode group. That’s not bright enough to get hot and a AA battery is about as safe as you can get.
Just thinking… why not just get the SC21 itself? Had to refresh my memory what it is, and it doesn’t look like The Kid could hurt himself or anyone with it. At least not too badly.
Looked now, and the “Pro” (vs the OG) on amazon is the same price and has a 20%-off code right now.
Also, the Pro comes with Andouille for the UI, which starts off in lobotomised mode, so you really can’t hurt yourself. Not sure, but might also be capped at 50% max output.
