Giveaway of a huge amount of flashlights (between 100 and 200), but: no sending, only pickup in Amsterdam

Hi my dear BLF community,

The latest years I have not done much in the hobby, but still kept my two square meters of flashlight universe behind the cupboard in our small appartment. Every now and then I still do a mod but I do not spend serious time in the flashlight hobby anymore. Recently I started clearing it out a bit to make the hobby corner more generally usable for other small hobby and repairs, as well as the odd flashlight job. Among other stuff it resulted in two sizable boxes of flashlights that I have no use for, spanning a decade of collecting and modding flashlights. It contains outdated flashlights and mods, as well as many modded flashlights that I still find well done, very often with high CRI emitters (my preference), as well as brand new flashlights that were never modded, and also many flashlights that are still in their boxes. It is a mixture of budget flashlights and flashlights that are more high-end.

I would like to donate it to the first flashlight lover who responds in this thread who takes the trouble to pick them up at my place in Amsterdam. I realise that this limits the amount of people who can do this enormously (I guess just some dutch people and perhaps some germans), but I have my doubts that if I send these boxes with large numbers of weird metal objects around the world that it will pass the various customs without trouble.

I hope that I can make someone somewhat happy with these, and for the record: they need to go all at once, so that my clearing action is indeed succesful, and very important: these lights are used at your own risk, most will just work fine but the majority have been tinkered with so you will get no guaranties whatsoever from me.

Many greetings from Amsterdam and may BLF live on for ever
Jos

Here is a picture of the two boxes:

The boxes are so big BLF couldn’t fit them.

Sort of  , I have not posted so long that I do not know anymore how to post pictures.

There you go

I like the pick up option, I haven’t been to Europe in almost 40 years.

Wow Jos, that’s what I call a clean break. It’s maybe the best way to shut a door behind you.

I myself am more the type of a fat lady on a diet, few lights less, few lights more.
Just wondering who might be able to ā€œabsorbā€ such an amount of lumens.

You will be missed. Unless you will become a silent lurker?

I’m really tempted, (I already started thinking of things to do/mod with several of the lights I spotted…), but I have already a big list of plans/mods I’m wanting to do with lights I already have, so for now I will ā€˜bite my tongue’ and see if there is another BLF member that could be made happy with it!

Still an amazing offer, certainly for people who like modded lights (and like to mod lights themself)!

So tempting; Amsterdam is only a 40-50min drive for me…

1 Thank

Wow, that is quite generous!
Congrats to whoever is lucky enough to be able to accept!

Hi Henk, also still here  . Not thƔt clean, I still keep a small box of lights around, many more than are useful for normal people. And I check BLF every now and then to see what keeps us busy.

1 Thank

Keep it in mind then. Here they are just lying around so any use for even only some of those flashlights is better than that.

Hi there! I can come by soon and pick them up! I’ll probably end up sharing these among some of my flashlight collecting friends

3 Thanks

Do you have plans to start with LED tests again?

I am tempted to accept the offer, but it is a 2-3 hour drive… Maybe we want to plan a small meetup somewhere in Amsterdam?

Edit: nevermind, I was some seconds too slow.

I’m curious, after all this experience, what are some of the lights special to you that you are choosing to keep? Do you mind letting us know?

2 Thanks

Oh so this is THE djozz whose posts I’ve come across. I’m new to the hobby so you don’t know me; just want to let you know even though you are long ā€œgoneā€, your excellent posts live on in perpetuity :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:. Still being read and checked and compared. Such as this one on change in Duv with AR lens (we got similar results fwiw/lol and it was very nice to see confirmation of my amateur testing).
