Whats up, folks!
Im not from USA, keep that in mind when recommending some great tools
Im also trying to get under 10$ shipped world wide, I know its much to ask
In my recent quest for multi tools, both budget and not that budget Ive come to conclusion that Im also rather interested in small, cheap tool of acceptable quality that has build in scissors!
Such tool can be scissors oriented where scissors take the main role instead of pliers.
Im not looking for some has-it-all tool, only for one with scissors and for cheap
I know about Leathermans offerings, SOG Crosscuts, Victorinox Calssicās SD, but are there more cheaper options out there? I dont care if its a brand or ripoff, as long as its scissors are worth the money paid for them
Im all open for your recommendations, I might end up carrying small regular scissors in holster/pocket together with my main EDC multi tool with pliers(when I actually receive, hopefully soon enough )ā¦
BUT I wouldnt mind to have something that has been made as EDC scissors from the beginning :)!
I have a genuine Leatherman Micra I have as my EDC because it's the smallest tool I can find with decent scissors. I use it to cut through the tie wraps people like to use to bundle their PC cables behind their desk. I have found that other tools (Victorinox-type) are typically a bit weaker for this task...
I believe that could be true, but I dont want to spend that much and buy Micra
Im outside USA, so no super sales and free shipping from US based stores for me
I agree with keltex78. If it suits your needs, look for a real leatherman micra. I picked one up used off of ebay for less than $10 and it's an oustanding tool. For delicate work though (fingernails and such), I still prefer the victorinox scissors on their small knives such as the classic or manager.
Yeah, perhaps I should be more specific - something as close to 10$ as possible, hence why I meant those fake tools as well
Shortcut costs close to 21$ brand new and shipped from USA. Style CS is good tool, been thinking about it, might as well order it or Micra when the pay day comes, but I would like to experiment with cheaper alternatives even if quality will be lower, which is to be expected regarding Chinese made copies.
I have IDL T10 on a way to me, so Im kind of looking for small pocket scissors tool to complement its pliers
I know there are True Utility Scixors at local store for 10$, but those are tiny and scissors-only, without any other tools to fall back on in case of necessity I might as well simply buy tiny 1$ scissors from Ebay or beauty store and would cost me 5-10x cheaper than TUās Scixors
Since Iām also from Europe, I understand perfectly
Buy a Leatherman Micra (or more than one) in super prices, from airport confiscations!
Most of them are in excellent condition
In the last year, I got about 20 of them (for me and friends), for an average of $10 per piece!!!
I bought a Micra clone from Ebay for ~$2.50 and used the scissors on it to cut 2-3 mm thick tree bark without problems. However after cutting quite a few pieces I noticed the scissors became quite dull and would need to be sharpened. Considering what I paid for the Micra clone the quality was quite decent.
Unfortunately theyāre no longer available on Ebay.
I think I saw them today when looking for foldable scissors on Ebay, thanks for pointing them out
I was also looking as Fiskars, Slip-n-āwhateverā brand name foltable scissors and looks like I can get them for around 10-12$ shipped to EU, I assume these small scissors are superior to LM/SOG/SAK built-in scissors.
Ok, once again, thanks for pointing this out ;)!
Are there any particular brands of EMT scissors to be aware of or are they all equally good as long as they are USA made?
Ive seen video where reviewer cuts penny(cent?) with them in half and cuts cars seatbelt in pieces with no problems.
These scissors seem to be the perfect ones given that they can cut almost anything and thus if used accordingly are almost indestructible - this is what Im looking for in tools that I buy, they should be either cheap and do their job well or if they are not quite-budget-oriented then they should last a long way and be able to take some serious abuse, which these scissors seem to be able to and they dont seem to cost that much either and come in different sizes :D!
