Not exactly connected to flashlights, knives or other EDC gear but maybe you guys know good cycling gear shops that have decent selection and good pricing. Something like Fasttech is for knives
Need to buy inexpensive āflatā pedals. Something Wellgo 962 would be nice. Couldnāt find them on Ebay or Aliexpress.
Whenever I have an old bike to refurbish on the cheap I order most of my parts from ebay seller ārockbrosā I generally get my parts faster than fasttech orders. Also look up ācyclelingā I believe it is the same seller with a different eBay id
Thanks for info, Buwuve. Iām tempted by Cycletrack CK-018 on ahappydeal.com . They seem to be at least 50% more expensive elsewhere.
Edit: no wonder theyāre that cheap there. They charge more for shipping than they do for pedals Didnāt expect that since most Asian shops offer free shipping.
I go cycling regularly with friends, and even though I am nowhere near their level I still make sure I buy quality parts because there are some things you don't want to go wrong 100km from home.
Just get stuff from wiggle, they're really close to you, anyway.
I understand what youāre saying but sometimes it just not worth to invest a lot of money in some things. And this time itās the case. I ride a very old road bike converted to single speed. I do not plan to do any touring on it and only ride few kilometres around town. It wonāt get any better if I put hi-end parts on it.
Kaiser I have an old Raleigh 440 I converted to single speed. The pedals and brake cables I ordered from rockbros. I have put over 2000 miles on this bike on top of the miles the previous owner rode. Saddle is a charge spoon, fizik tape, generic chain, cheap Michelin slicks.
Thanks Jerommel. I also have geared road bikes including a specialized mountain bike. I just used that bike as an example since I spent the least amount of money possible to get it rolling. You donāt have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on campy or dura ace components to have I nice reliable bike.
That“s true.
I ride daily with old 3x7 Shimano Alivio.
Still shifts smooth and accurately.
Close ratio cassette on the rear, which I replace with every new chain, and every now and then I replace the little guiding sprockets of the rear derailleur I use ones with industrial ball bearings.
All other bearings are still just fine, after all these years.
Bit heavy (weight) thoughā¦
O, and I have 2 recumbents in pieces, waiting for inspirationā¦
Iād like to have a ābend-over-racerā again some time though.
Nice bike you got there, Crank
Mineās nothing special. Only finished converting it last week so donāt have decent photos of it. Sanblasted and powdercoated it because of poor paintwork and some surface rust. It cost me about the same what paint stripper, rattle can paint and a wire brush woud have. Put riser handlebars on it, replaced brake cables, took rear wheel for re-dishing. Regreased old Wellgo MTB pedals they seemed to be fine right after reassembling. But after first ride Iāve noticed that one of them became a bit loose and other - stiff. Hence wanting new pedals.
Thanks Kaiser. These are the pedals I have installed on my ss eBay paid $12 for them shipped. They are really light weight aluminum and have Sealed bearings.
Anyone buying cycling gear on Ebay better avoid seller 1949store. He has 99.5% feedback bust service I got from him was worst in a a long time.
Wasted almost two months of my time. Waited for more than one month then contacted seller and opened a case. Seller was very polite and promptly answered all questions. I asked him to re-send the item with tracking number and he agreed. Later sent me a non-working tracking number. Later weird weird excuses started. I ran out of patience and asked Ebay staff to help me get my refund and same day got it and bought pedals from Cycleling. Hope this time it turns out better.
Cycleling and rockbros have been my go to shops. A buddy of mine ordered some cycling glasses from them for cheap and I am curious about the quality. I have a pair of Oakley racing jacket that need lense replaced but the lenses are crazy expensive.
