Good wiki for Cree LEDs and latest available bins?

Hi,

Haven’t kept up with the flashlight scene for a little while so I’m trying to catch up.

Is there a wiki somewhere with developments in the past couple of years? What are the latest bins available?

The wiki here has some good info though it’s a little dated.

Is a XP-G2 S5 available yet?

Thanks!

I’m not aware of an XP-G2 S5 but the XP-G2 R5 is readily available if that’s what you were meaning to say.

Things in the emitter world are moving fast. The XP-L is another development not mentioned on the Wiki.

BLF-member CRX has made a database with a lot of leds and other stuff, and he is keeping it up-to-date (wow, the XHP50/70 tests that I posted last week are already added!), the most widely used emitters are in there:

Thanks for the link, it looks handy!

I was wondering about the bins listed though. For the XP-G2, it only goes up to R5.

But I’ve seen some links for the S2 bin. Does this mean those listings are fake?

Trusted sources carry S2 and S3, so they are likely real bins. Cree just doesn’t update the binning and labeling datasheet very often.

Directly from the Cree datasheet, the S2 is currently the max bin.

Yet Cutter has S3. Typically the datasheets lag behind, especially when Cree can’t fulfill large orders for whatever reason.

I totally agree, just wanted to show what Cree had listed, it at least verified the legitimacy of the S2.

Gotcha, and fair enough. Clearly I either didn’t know they’d updated the datasheet with S2 or I forgot. Actually I now see that the latest XP- series B/L datasheet has S3 listed! But no order codes for S3.

Cool, thanks for the info!

I bought a few XPG2 S2 1D and XPG2 S3 3C from ios which are very impressive, as rated: S2 558-595 lumen at 1.5amp and the S3 595-625 lumen at 1.5amp. Almost catching the old xml output. The latest xml2s and xpls now put out 1200+ lumen at 3amp . I put a xpg2 s2 1d[ dedomed] in my sunwayman t20cs for [originally xml 650lmn] 600 otf lumen and 55kcd and my ea4 improved massively at 1100 otf lumen and 32kcd[XPL V6 2C] both stock drivers on copper noctigons. If you have any older lights these new gen crees offer an easy, effective [ some led swaps are harder than others] upgrade to an old favourite.
