I received my desert sand color Convoy S2+ in today and I am satisfied. It has the XPL Hi and will flood and throw beyond what I expected and more than would be needed in really any flashlight. For me the S2+ light covers locking up the chickens, walking the dog, shining the field 200-300 yds off and spotting predators.
It will easily cover going hunting, recovering deer, fixing busted water pipes under the house, and the .1% output setting for power outages.
I am not a fan of the reverse clicky but I will get over it. Now I wish there was an option for ordering with reverse or forward click operation.
On hi the light will get quite hot, the upside is it would serve as a hand warmer in the winter time when the hands are numb from being outside hunting.
It’s a sweet light for around $20.
The heat seems like it would be easy to fry the guts quick. But it’s bright.
I’m a Convoy fan and have an S2 2.8A rosy tint and two S2+, one a custom triple XP-L HI that Ven sent me a couple of Christmases ago. The other is the blue one with something or other in a neutral/CW bent.
They’re a great family of lights. I haven’t bought a light from the big boys since I got an S Mini rainbow from my GF as a Christmas present.
That rainbow is a sweet looking little light. The high runtime wouldn’t last to long but the other mode run times are reasonable.
I have a Convoy L6 with a XHP70.2 and it is bright and all but I would prefer the S2. For anything out to 100 yds the S2 is easier to carry, still great Runtimes and is plenty bright enough at those distances.,
Thanks
I like the look, size, battery and specs ot the BD06. I think the BD06 will be my next Convoy. I’m not much of a fan of the side switch, I would rather have a tail switch. I guess it has a reverse click as its switch like the S2+. It’s in my ALI cart too along with a JAXMAN Z1 that I am still debating.
I’m a Convoy fan, too!
Because of my poor English, so I introduce my Convoy lights briefly.

The green S2+ with the case hardened clip is one Ven had drawn up by 3Tronics in the UK. James was his name, but unfortunately, James closed up shop last October.
LD-2 driver running on direct drive at 6A in turbo, 3 XP-L HI U6 V3 emitters, 4 modes w/ML and a thermal doohickey on board that shuts it off after about 2:30. I get about 8 minutes on an Aspire 10A 1100mAh cell, FYI.
It’s really my only custom light, discounting the D4 I just got. While it’s a bit heavy in the pocket (I EDC an ET D25C Ti. clicky), it’s pretty slim/short for the amount of light one gets out of it.
That’s sweet. It amazing how far led lights have come in the past few years. I just got into the newer led’s in the past couple months. The amount of heat and light output generated is crazy. It will be interesting to see what the future of led has.
