Emisar D2 Review - Feature Packed 14500 Light

Doe the 150 lumen sustained output hold true if you start the light on high rather than turbo?

Apologies if the graphs answer this, I can’t see them at the moment. Restriction of the network I’m on

Yes, 150 is the sustained output of the 519A channel regardless of what level it started on.

I didn’t think I would like the D2, but it has ended up being my favorite headlamp so far. I went with a flood/throw setup (throw near the switch, flood away from the switch), and it’s really handy being able to have both.

There is newer firmware available, which makes it easier to keep the 2 channels separate. It also makes the aux LED voltage mode a bit easier to read in low brightness mode, because it uses high brightness for 3 seconds after turning the torch off. You could, for example, hold a hand in front of it and look up, to see the charge level color while wearing the light on your head.

I configured mine so only channel modes 1 and 2 are enabled. That means “3C while on” flips between flood and throw, but it otherwise acts like a single channel light. The usual 3C function (smooth/stepped brightness ramp toggle) is on 6C instead.

If I had gotten a warm/cool white setup instead, there are other channel modes to handle that. It has a few different ways to blend the two channels. But on a flood/throw light I don’t need any of that, so it’s turned off.

@ToyKeeper That’s realy great news about the firmware, but do you know what mcu I should choose for flashing my D2?ATtiny1616?
I have a stone white, W1 amber for throw and an 519A 4500k dedomed flood.

The D2 uses ATTINY1634
