【Group Buy Begins】SOFIRN SC13 Copper with Anduril2, SFT40 3000K/5000K + removable clip

Yes. I have an SC13A and it would be nice to have an 18650 extension for it. It would have to have female threads to attach to the body and male threads for the tail cap.

I wish the copper version had the Nichia 519A too.

I broke down and ordered one of each tint in copper and two more SC13As. I could not resist.

So that will make it five SC13s.

It would be nice to be able to use my numerous 18650s with them.

Of course you will!

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. The official website has always been like this, and registration is actually very simple.

You’ll also get a 10% discount and a free glow-in-the-dark pin.

10% off in exchange for your personal information, thats pretty generous.

No personal information is required. We initially wanted your email addresses so we could send emails, but due to privacy concerns, we are not requesting them.

Ordered 2 thank you. I appreciate the pin and the 10% for sure. I like the design better than any other copper light available. Looks steampunk

This year they stole my data from the company that supplies me with electricity, from the one I pay for car parking and also from the one that sold me the sofa…and you’re worried about sofirn? :joy: :joy:

If you are European, start worrying about “chat control”

Don’t like the button on the copper version. It is Mushy…

Mines rattly, but it clicks nicely… Only other beef I have is the moonlight being way too high. I don’t know if it’s running a borrowed FW, it blinks out version# 0633, but I’m hoping an update from TK will let me set that lower - and that it doesn’t ripple too much.

Otherwise, it’s a pleasant little light. I’ll know more when the sun goes down.

Ruh-roh. High moonlight? Anybody else seeing similar? Was really hoping for sub-lumen if at all possible.

I’ve also received some feedback on this issue. They say it’s caused by the compression from vacuum packaging, and it will return to normal after a few uses.

Is the moonlight setting of 2 lumens very strong? This program was designed by @gchart .

This is usually a matter of personal preference, but I prefer a “moonlight” mode which is less than 1 Lumen…

Fortunately, Barry, I think this may be something that can relatively easily modified with updates to the firmware. I regularly update my Anduril flashlights as updates are made by ToyKeeper (and others like Wolfgirl & gchart!) and many here in the community do the same.

I don’t have the skills to modify the FW code myself, and there is always the question of whether the hardware will also allow that kind of adjustment, but should it be possible in the same way I’ve seen it done on other Anduril lights, it’s quite simple to set a new moonlight level or adjust it so it is more like it is now.

I have little doubt the community here will take a look at it and determine what can be done!

I see.
As you said, some enthusiastic BLFers would be able to help you update this FW code when they have time, adjusting the moonlight mode to 1 lumen.

In my testing as configured, the lowest mode in Stepped ramping was ~1.7 lumens. Switching to Smooth ramping provides 0.9 lumens at the lowest mode. This follows many Anduril builds where the smooth floor is lower than the discrete floor.

So… if 1.7 lumens is a bit too high for some folks, I see a few options:

  • Switch to Smooth ramping (easiest)
  • Use Ramp Config Menu to change the Stepped ramping floor level to 1
  • Modify the firmware to your liking

If 0.9 lumens is too high, you’ll need to change firmware to enable a lower low. This will likely induce visible flickering, but if that’s a trade-off you’re willing to make - go for it! Unfortunately in my testing, the regulator was very slow to respond, which affected all sorts of stuff like blinks during battery check, strobes, etc. I had to slow a lot of that down to make it work reasonably.

Are the source files for model number 0633 available in some public git repository ?

Thank you

I just submitted a pull request for TK to bring the SC13 to the main repo

Thank you very much! I think it’s great that Sofirn made this copper light for enthusiasts.

Nevertheless, I would like to report some UI confusion I experienced at my end when using my SC13 Copper (3000K, Anduril 2 version check 0633-2025-07-07-1): I typically use smooth ramp in Advanced UI, and as I did not see any turbo from ceiling, I suspected that the ceiling might be set to 150 by default, and the source code confirms this. Is this intentional? This means there is no separate ceiling, and you ramp up right to turbo. Stepped ramp ceiling in Advanced UI is set to 130, and while the floor settings may vary, as far as I can tell the ceiling settings usually correspond in Anduril 2.

Even stranger (to me), Simple UI ceiling is set to 150 (which goes for both smooth and stepped ramp in Simple UI), meaning that ceiling (which is turbo) in Simple UI’s stepped ramp is brighter than ceiling in Advanced UI’s stepped ramp. This can’t be right, can it? I make use of ceiling (Anduril 2 turbo style with 2C) and turbo (mostly momentary turbo with3H) all the time, and this default ceiling/turbo setup in my eyes does away with part of the brightness ramp functionality of Anduril 2.

same “problems” as yours, for those who are not experts it can be dangerous to have a copper torch with the turbo activated automatically… however, is the Luminus SFT40 LED at risk of burning out with a charged battery and high amperes?
