Group buy: Supbeam X40 L2 (Update: SOLD OUT!)

I have requested Chris do not arrange shipment until everything is resolved! Possibly I will ask for a full refund in case I don’t received a clear answer!

Lets hope this do not turn out like the other K50 disaster.

Payment made.
Just read the thread about K50 that TomE received :open_mouth:
I hope they will solve this amicably and everything is fine.

Tom E’s sample is very disturbing to all those of us who have not yet received their lights. It’s clear that it’s not just a factory-line miss-step.

I hope Supbeam holds every unshipped K50 and X40 until the issues are resolved.

And most importantly deal with the already sent but bad samples decisively, or else Acebeam will already have a tainted name even before selling a single unit.

+1

Dear all,

It's understandable that everyone is concerned about the K50 GB problems. I have heard that many of you have sent emails to Supbeam, asking for delaying the shipments / better QC / ...

However, to make things easier for them, it would be good if you would only contact the person arranging the GB (O-L in case of K50 GB or me in case of this X40 GB) and we would consolidate and forward your concerns to them. Otherwise, in situations like this, they will get tens of emails => more hassle, more time to answer, less likely to arrange a GB again. :(

Thank you for understanding.

Ps. Chris is well aware of the situation. Hopefully we hear more from him soon.

The Supbeam/Acebeam K50 and X40 from the current Group Buys are my Very First Supbeam/Acebeam flashlights (& my first ever Group Buys).....,
.. so the quality of what we receive, and Most Importanly how they fix all the problems that occur....
....will decide whether or not I will continue to buy and recommend Supbeam/Acebeam products...

.

id love to be on the reserve list.
whats the price by the way?

Im still in, but Ill wait a bit with payment and see how Supbeam handles the K50 anodizing issues.

It would suck to buy X40 and see the same problem, especially if Supbeam will not take care of the issue, or compensate nicely for the annoyance. Products in this price range should not have such issues.

^ Ditto

Please don't take this as any kind of defense or excuse for Supbeam screwing up (hopefully on just that one light) but calling it a disaster is a bad hyperbole.

Speaking for myself, if my light is like that when I pick up tomorrow, will I be annoyed? You bet. Will I want Supbeam to make it right? Whether through replacement, or partial refund? Absolutely. Will I still consider it a good deal if they don't? Yup, I just won't buy from them directly ever again.

Does anyone know if there are more one finish (flat and gloss) the X40 series has?

Sorry, that sentence cannot be parsed.

The reason is, if there are two finishes available, that might what have happened to the K50. (glossy head mated to a flat-finished body), and can happen to the X40 too, but can easily be remedied.

if this turns into a big deal where we all get screwed, i am going to cancel my x60m order through vinh and just buy other lights from him

this is my last transaction EVER with any overseas dealers.

id rather pay triple and get what i pay for.

It is quite simple, I expect the Supbeam X40 to exhibit the same quality as other mainstream Chinese manufacturers, Fenix, Olight, Jetbeam, Nitecore, etc, etc. No less quality will be accepted.

Questions;

OL has a separate thread from his GB one saying dont order anything until the anodizing issue is settled but here you said only to contact you about issues from this GB. Were you told the same thing from SupBeam about not prchasing due to issues?

Should we be making payments even with these anodizing issues?

Is SupBeam going to look into this before sending our lights out?

If we do get one with an issue, are we expected to mail it back to SupBeam (thats a huge deal breaker if we do since itll be half the cost of the light just to ship it back) or are they going to send us replacement parts (even if they are branded AceBeam)

Why speculate on problems before they happen? I want a useful light and am not too worried about cosmetics such as not perfectly matched anodizing finish on parts. Just my attitude of course.

I have received acknowledgement from the manufacturer for my order in addition to the Paypal acknowledgement of payment sent. The factory acknowledgement went to my junk mail though so check yours before emptying it. Not the greatest English but understandable.

I think (my opinion) that, at this point, __the__ himself, is waiting to hear back from Chris from Supbeam. I already made my payment before (or maybe about the same time) that the post about the K50 was posted, so whatever the situation is, it's too late for me, but I'm guessing that it's kind of up to you if you want to go ahead at this moment.

Off-topic: How do you all get the’s username, with the underscores to show up on BLF posts?
