GyrFalcon S4000 Pro Firmware Updating

As per the title, how exactly is the firmware updated on the S4000 Pro charger?

I understand there’s a micro-USB cable supplied with the charger to enable firmware updating. And latest firmware can be downloaded from - here

But what is not clear is what the procedure is to update the firmware. There is nothing in the manual explaining the firmware update procedure.

Here’s a link to the update tool. Connect the charger via USB, maybe install CH340 drivers, then open the tool, select port and firmware file, click update.

Thanks for the prompt and helpful reply.

But I can’t seem to find the link you mentioned?

Forgot to paste it. :rage: Sorry.

Thank you!

I have also downloaded the file Tools.zip from the GyrFalcon S8000 page here.

I note that this Tools.zip file contains the file Updatetool_GYRFALCON_S8000.exe (same file as in your download link file) plus a subdirectory named TestController.

Two questions.

Is it certain that this update tool Updatetool_GYRFALCON_S8000.exe works also for the S4000Pro charger, as the update file name suggests it is (only) for the S8000 charger?

The TestController sub directory within the Tools.zip file, should that directory contents be extracted as well as the update executable (Updatetool_GYRFALCON_S8000.exe)? Does the update executable require these extra files from within the TestController sub directory as well? Or does the update executable run happily by itself without the need for TestController contents?

I haven’t tried it myself, but I’m pretty sure that it will work.

That are support files for TestController, a sophisticated logging and analysis software. They are not required for the firmware update.
Support for S4000 Pro / S8000 should be already integrated into the official TestController release, so you don’t need the files at all.

Thank you very much for the clarification!
