Thanks for the update. I assume it still does not have automatic battery -type recognition?
And from the sounds of it the sliders are still not that much easier to slide?

Sliding has not been a problem with mine⦠the negative contacts being so short makes getting cells in and out a PIA though.
Enova is working on a simple mode with automatic battery type recognition and USB-C input.
Itās easier to move the sliders by hand because the negative ends are longer.
The outer two sliders are smoother.
I havenāt really had an issue with the sliders. Theyāre not as smooth as Vapcell BL4 or XTAR VX4 but I am not trying to move super fast while charging cells and itās less noticeable when working with 18350 or 18650 cells.
Thanks Tim. By āsimple modeā do you mean the S8000 will get this mode from a firmware update via USB-C? I thought the S8000 only has a micro-USB port?
The S8000 has three main modes at the moment. Two Normal and one Professional. The Simple mode might be a fourth option with automatic battery type detection.
Firmware can be updated via the micro USB port on the side.
The S8000 currently has a DC socket for input. This might be changed in the future to USB-C while the micro USB port on the side is used for data and firmware updates.
Thanks Tim. The extra mode to simple and auto battery recognition via micro-USB sounds great.
This being hardly āportableā, I donāt see much difference between a DC (5521 they said in another thread), or USB-C input, but I guess USB-C might make it easier to sell.
Whatever, I wonāt be getting one until it has auto-battery recognition. Thanks again.
While I think of it, assuming Enova might read this thread, it would be good if they added 1.5V Li-ion charging to any updates that are in the works.
I donāt really care about the USB-C v DC5521 charging but if they are in to changing ports/inputs, why not also update the micro-USB to USB-C: that would be useful (and also make it more saleable).
But for me, If they add auto-battery recognition and 1.5V charging, Iāll get one for sure, since I will also be able to charge longer batteries.
That got added pretty early, more than a year ago.
Thanks - I musta missed that. Only auto-battery recognition to go then!
